Well looks like I read into it right then, no Dean Hammond this week at least anyway but I thought that was the case judging by Adkin's interview.

If Hammond was coming in this week why was he scared of rushing Baxter back from injury and why was he worried about Basham picking up his 5th yellow card. He know he needs at least one of them to partner Reed this weekend.

This was on Tuesday night as well so sound like he knew it wouldn't be this week early in the week.

It isn't just on here though is it this one and it isn't just ITK's.

This one has to have a bit of truth in it because it is being picked up on by all of the media. The media in Leicester have been saying that this move is going to happen for about a week which leads me to believe that they have been trying to bash out a deal but they want us to cough up a bit more for his services.

I agree with you about the ITK bullshit though it does my head in. I don't usually read to much into the rumours as 99% turn out to be a load of shite but like I said I still think this one has legs because the equivalent of Buchan, Staton and Co are reporting the same thing at the other end.

It's not Adkins fault what should he come on and say "this tight arse board won't give me what they promised so I'm stuck with this sack on shit?" Wouldn't be very professional would it. I suggest you take your frustration out on "those behind the seens" who are full of shit.

What would they do if he did come out and say just that - both I and the supporters were categorically told that the Murphy transfer fee would be used to strengthen the first team squad - It appears they were telling lies !
I would say Mr Adkins is in a very strong position given his assurances only three months ago and re-iterated when the club sold Murphy last month - Perhaps he is not the character people appear to think his is !

You can get quality players that are hard working and professional, but I've never heard of any footballer but the nick Montgomerys of this world labeled as honest.

Bearing in mind half the owners are new to this and last season waiting landed The Beard then perhaps they might just think that waiting to get who the manager has told them is "the right man" is the best way?

We were all asking after transfer deadline day when does the loan window open, bearing in mind, we almost got one of our targets over the line.................almost!

A number of weeks later and we'll all soon be asking when does the loan window close because we still haven't managed to get one of our "almost" targets over the line

It does get a bit tedious when we seem to be experiencing it window after window.

We don't need the loans now, we've turned the corner with a couple of cracking points at Burton and high flying Bradford, plus stuffing 10 man, third from bottom, pointy heads. ;)
 
The only thing worse than the club that trott out such shit time after time are the idiotic fans than defend them saying such things as "Jamie Murphy is inconsistent and easily replaceable" and "I'd drive him down to Brighton for an earth shattering 1.5m".
Then they expect us to not only replace said player, presumably with a better winger to improve on him (else what's the point?) but also, to improve other areas of the squad too!
When do we ever do that? Have we done it this time? Have we fuck.
And now you fucking morons who defended the sale of our best player are unhappy like the rest of us because of our inability to sign a fecking player.

Then there's the club... What the fuck are they pissing about at? I'm not suggesting I have a solution to our woes in the transfer market.. The fact that it seems to take us approximately 6 months per transfer target to finalise a deal if at all. But I can tell you what's not the solution, sticking with the tool in charge at the moment, Mal Brannigan. We haven't had a smooth signing transfer wise since his arrival. I've no doubt he is working hard behind the scenes, but working hard on what exactly? Pissing the fans off?

I've mentioned it before we never seem to have a 2nd or 3rd option lined up in case our first is out of reach which is just bad planning.

We are currently 6th which is a fair reflection on where we will end up come the end of the season if we don't sign the players in the positions we've needed since Jan 15.

It's obvious no serious cash is going to be put out from the sale of Murphy etc.

Once again we've done half a job instead of the full one we should have done.

Sharp + Sammon + Edgar + Woolford = 6th

However

Sharp + Sammon + Edgar + Woolford + CB + MD + GK = top 2

It's not rocket science let's not pretend it is we need 3 players we should have got them. Near enough 25% of the season gone and we still don't have the ducks in a row.

Lost faith in Jim 'the mouth' Phipps ... The Prince is no where to be seen and McCabe is still pulling the strings.

we do not sign him on dates put forward by our good friend max and mike stephenson over on twitter
some ITK nobody from a Leicester forum says that the deal is been held up as we wont pay what Leicester want
Cue 20 pages of meltdown from fans on how shit our board is, how we are tight, how adkins is having his hands tied by the board, how we dont have a 2nd, 3rd or 4th option lined up,

There has been no confirmation from the club or anyone close to it that we are even interested in hammond but because we haven't signed him by some made up date in peoples heads then lets just abuse the club and board over it?

Amazing.

FFS get off Branigans / the clubs owners backs. Giving in to easily to player, agent and loaning clubs demands are what got us in this position to start with. The likes of Turry giving out golden contracts to players lasting years landed Clough with players he probabley didn't want and he's made it worse by topping up the squad with average players and that's what N#2 has inherited.

If you want N#2 and Branigans to compound an already oversized, overpaid average squad then fine encourage them to go for the 2nd/3rd choice if we can't get the player we need to succeed immediately. Or encourage them to pay whatever it takes (restricting further squad building) on more golden contracts and end up with an aging squad of journeymen.

Or, let them do their fekin job!

I'm as frustrated as anyone re needing to get the right players into the positions we all know need strengthening. But, I have every faith in the manager, a modicum of faith in the new owners (it wasn't as easy as they might have thought) and in McCabe. Yes, McCabe, he's got it right in the past getting to us into the PL and got it wrong by not investing to stay there BUT he's never given up trying.

Rant over and hopefully S24 meltdown over!

There has been such confirmation. It is in today's Star, for starters.

Along with a statement from Adkins that as we have players coming back the loan situation is not as acute. Shame none of the players coming back are central defenders or decent central midfielders.

Ah, I apologise, the following is obviously a direct quote from adkins / board member....

Although officials at Bramall Lane privately believe one target, Fulham’s Dan Burn, will not be allowed to leave Craven Cottage until next year, they have held further talks with Leicester City aimed at signing Dean Hammond. The midfielder is thought to have signalled his interest in joining United but, while City will allow him to leave, sources in the Midlands last night reported their desire to review his future again in January could prove a stumbling block with Adkins known to prefer more concrete arrangements.
