Even if there’s nothing in this I really enjoyed watching his best bits with us again. Fuck knows where we’d play him but he’s the type of player that makes football enjoyable

IF the deal is doable from a financial perspective then we need to snap their hands off.

We're crying out for a bit of that "X Factor" and DB provides that. I'd almost go as far and say if we can get him then the formation should be tailored around what will get the best out of him NOT where he fits in our current formation. That level of stubbornness will get us relegated if things continue the way they are.

Totally agree pommpey but I'm not sure how we get him back to those levels without playing him and I'm really not sure Osbourne is that much of an improvement, form wise, to not be playing him?

£5m is a fair bit of cash for a season long loan for a club selling everything right now. They still retain their assett and pocket £5m, what's not to like?

We are light on options in LCM. We have that need now for a Michael Brownesque, box to box creative, one which Fleck was starting to look like last season.

I am still scratching my head is to what the fuck has happened to his 'bite'. A said, a year ago, I would have had him on a trajectory to net ten, maybe twelve goals and be involved in dozens more. One of the reasons we are so light on goals is that magic area between centre circle and 18 yard box where we are now so fucking empty and ponderous. I mentioned last week that we should have shots from distance and hey pesto, Didsy has a crack and it goes in. Fleck has that capability and should be more advanced and threatening. Yes, Osborn isn't quite at the level Fleck was, but in effort he is way above alone. If we can bring back Brooks to add to that threat (and keep him off the treatment table) we will move up the table.
