Fucking get the lad in. Who can we get to invest? Always thought Sean Bean should have got all the minted cast and crew in from Lord of The Rings.

With apologies to fans of Les Miserables:

God on high
Hear our prayer
In our need
We need this player

He is young
He is Welsh
Nut-megged Hunt
Made him look a cunt

Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home.

He's like our son, we've always known
If God had granted us a son.

The summers die
One by one
How soon they fly
On and on
We're The Blades
And we march on

Bring him North
To The Lane
Bring him home

I'll get mi coooart :tumbleweed:

This is really bugging me, because it actually sounds a very realistic deal.

But why would this Andy fella possibly have got so much detail from a mate at the club, or whatever...?! They'd just say "Brooks might be signing"...!
Us paying £40 Million (loan and purchase price) for him sounds realistic and we pay only 75% of his salary?

If we loaned him for 5 million, only paying 75% of the wages for that time is plausible isn't it?

A bit convoluted, but from some of the stuff that comes out about these transfer dealings, most of them are.

The £5m loan fee off the £35, then another £5m off for the sell on, that makes it around £25m.
Maybe even thats with add ons.

We've just spent a potential £23m on someone we don't know.

Say if that is the deal there is still a potential downside in my opinion.

I don't know how much loan-to-buy deals are actually set in stone? But lets say if they aren't always and Brooks remains uninjured for most of his loan season proving himself back to consistent fitness and gets some assists/goals, the bigger clubs he's been linked with this summer such as Leicester, Man U and Liverpool may cause Brooks to re-appear on their radars if he's had a decent season with us. If so these clubs could gazump us in terms of the transfer fee and his wages.

A loan would mean other clubs could swoop.

A loan to buy is basically a contract that he's ours.

Yes. Like I said i’m not ITK but was told loan fee was £5 million. May just be coincidence.

£5m is a bargain as i'm sure he would chip in with goals but more importantly provide quality chances for Brewster & co. Get Brooks and we stay up mid-table, don't get Brooks (or another creative player of the same ilk) and it's going to tough, we can't keep asking the defence to get us 1-0 etc

Even if there’s nothing in this I really enjoyed watching his best bits with us again. Fuck knows where we’d play him but he’s the type of player that makes football enjoyable

Easy

------------------Ramsdale----------------

Baldock-----Basham-------Egan-----Lowe

------------------Norwood-------------------

------Berge--------------------Osborn-----

-----------------Brooks---------------------

--------Burke-------------Brewster--------

That front setup would create what we wanted. Attacking play.

Loves a nutmeg does t'owd "School Boy Looks"

Wilder himself has said we are not being attacking enough. We need the players who can do that, and Brooks is one of them who could make a real difference.

None of our defenders are good enough to play ina four in the premier league

Duffy and Brooks on form made us unplayable. IMHO we need to. in the following windows, get players that can do the same jobs they did. Hopefully we dig ourway out of our current predicament but I find it hard to enjoy watching how we play at the moment. As Wilder has said the lack of confidence is killing us ATM. ⚔

Then the best thing to do us go a bit more adventurous and tell them to go and express themselves, stop being so cagey.

Easy to forget how totally left footed he is.
Not perhaps a RCM
We would hopefully have Berge playing RCM with a creative type infront of him and either Norwood, Fleck, Ampadu or Osborn completing the triangle. 🤞

This ain't it lads

Hasn't been reported by a single reputable source

The only person close to being ITK who has commented on it is Alan Nixon (just threw up in my mouth a bit) and it's not exactly promising

I'm away now to decontaminate mysen after sharing this weapons tweets
