At the risk of being labelled stupid, why can't he grow and develop with the club and become a legend who drags us in to the premiership and keeps us there whilst becoming a club legend like TC. Then if he wants to, he leaves to go to a top club and for at least 30+ millions.

£12 million is there first offer they will increase. The offered £18million for someone else so I’d be saying we go for that sort of figure.

I'd sooner United got relegated to the Conference than sell Brooks to Bournemouth, because I detest Bournemouth... they stand for everything I hate about modern English football

A balanced view there.......

:)

Damn right. I hate that stupid little middle class non-league club down in the poshland with it's Russian billionaire oligarch owner. They sum up the Premier League perfectly

I meant the us relegated to the conference bit.

^^^^^ This.

Loathsome approach, manager and stadium - don't know a single Bournemouth fan, but I expect they exist and are equally detestable.

They are in the Premier League because some filthy rich foreign billionaire was bored one day and thought he'd buy a new toy.

The fact that the area probably doesn't give a toss doesn't really matter.

When have we ever sold a player and replaced him with a better (or even similar) replacement?

Boggles my mind when my mates say "id carry him on my back for £15m" like we have history of throwing the cash back at the first team.

Bizarre.

This, times 14789752674653158975346767.

People are fucking stupid if they think that the cash is going to be reinvested in its entirerity in the first team. Do they never learn?

When we sold Che Adams

Given the demographic in Bournemouth, they're probably the only club in the country who've got more moaning old bastard fans than we have.

If we sell for £12m we are fools. KM will keep £11.99m and we will be worse off. I hope Wilder sticks to his no shit or i'm off guns.

And why would anyone want to play for Bournemouth? They will be done on fair play soon and you could fit their fans into the bottom half of Bramall Lane.

You didn’t say replaced him with an equally expensive player. Better or similar. Selling Adams helped fund a few signings in the early days of Wilder, including Leon Clarke. Which one scored 19 Championship goals last season?

Oh come on now, im one of Leon's biggest fans, but truth be told, we got lucky that he hit unbelievable form for us.

Also Che Adams age is 21, don't we have fans worrying Leon (33) is now past it??

Forgetting the fact most (including myself) wanted jug ears gone anyway, unlike Brooks, we also sold DCL and Ramsdale, I believe in the same season, whats that another £3M? So in total £5M?

I know sales are part of football and I could stomach for example selling Che and keeping DCL.

I will never lose sleep over this stuff but the fans saying "Sell him!" Is just bizarre with our history.

Makes you wonder how many DCL or Che would have scored under Wilder, we will never know.

All I know is that after a CB people are asking for 2 x new strikers because ours are getting on a bit.

I cant even believe I'm explaining myself to be honest.

Nobody knows our current financial position, we're just fans I'd still love Maguire, Walker, Jagielka, Naughton etc to still be playing at the lane, but unfortunately money talks and if we need the finances then he will go.

I think its hard for a 'mid table' budgeted Championship club to turn down £12m for any of their players.

It’s really not rocket science.

Sell your best players = weaken the team about 95% of the time, regardless of the fee received, but especially when it’s as underwhelming as £12m

If Bolton can sell 27 year old, 10 goal Gary fucking Madine for 8 million to another championship club, then I'm pretty sure that we can get more than any 12 million for a 20 year old, full international hot prospect from a mega rich premier league side.

If Bournemouth have indeed offered 12 million, we should laugh in their faces. Double it & we should consider selling.

12 million ? I wonder if we'd hear the first shouts of " Wilder out " if he thinks 12 million meets his valuation of Brooks and agrees to sell him

If, say, we lost Brooks, and gained Egan, Norwood, and Nahki Wells, would the team be weaker, or stronger?

If the ITK is correct we are struggling to match the wages Egans is likely to want so very unlikely we could attract Norwood and Wells, players on premiership wages. Its not about the fee we can pay its more about being able to afford the whole package for replacements which we currently seem to be unable to do.

Missing the point mate. The point is that it is possible to make the team stronger by selling Brooks, particularly when Chris Wilder is in charge. We will only know whether selling him was the correct decision when we see the replacements come in as a result.
