I'd sooner United got relegated to the Conference than sell Brooks to Bournemouth, because I detest Bournemouth... they stand for everything I hate about modern English football
A balanced view there.......

Damn right. I hate that stupid little middle class non-league club down in the poshland with it's Russian billionaire oligarch owner. They sum up the Premier League perfectly
I meant the us relegated to the conference bit.
Offer from Bournemouth according to The Sun, £12M. Tempting? - https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/foot...uth-sheffield-united-eddie-howe-championship/

^^^^^ This.
Loathsome approach, manager and stadium - don't know a single Bournemouth fan, but I expect they exist and are equally detestable.
When have we ever sold a player and replaced him with a better (or even similar) replacement?
Boggles my mind when my mates say "id carry him on my back for £15m" like we have history of throwing the cash back at the first team.
Bizarre.

When we sold Che Adams

Sorry what £2M pound striker did we bring in to replace Che Adams?
You didn’t say replaced him with an equally expensive player. Better or similar. Selling Adams helped fund a few signings in the early days of Wilder, including Leon Clarke. Which one scored 19 Championship goals last season?
I think its hard for a 'mid table' budgeted Championship club to turn down £12m for any of their players.
If, say, we lost Brooks, and gained Egan, Norwood, and Nahki Wells, would the team be weaker, or stronger? It’s really not rocket science.
Sell your best players = weaken the team about 95% of the time, regardless of the fee received, but especially when it’s as underwhelming as £12m

Missing the point mate. The point is that it is possible to make the team stronger by selling Brooks, particularly when Chris Wilder is in charge. We will only know whether selling him was the correct decision when we see the replacements come in as a result. If the ITK is correct we are struggling to match the wages Egans is likely to want so very unlikely we could attract Norwood and Wells, players on premiership wages. Its not about the fee we can pay its more about being able to afford the whole package for replacements which we currently seem to be unable to do.
I honestly think we'd get by without brooks. More important things to concentrate on to be honest, i'd give him another season and then sell.
