I'm not sure if people have intentionally refrained from posting his other well known alias but I'll follow as the people that know will know.

Absolutely gutted, followed his story on here since pre covid. Bucket m*ngs stories will always make me chuckle. Wish I could have partaked in a corona club pint but post covid has been awful for him.

RiP to a forum great.

I am gutted about this. Matt reached out to me a few weeks ago when he learned I had been diagnosed with throat & tonsil cancer. He was brilliant with me, giving advice & pep talks to keep me going, never mentioning his own troubles, & I will never forget that. I don't actually know him, but I felt like I did, heartfelt condolences to his family & friends, he was a "gud un".

Absolutely terrible news. We exchanged a couple of messages last year when he was due to start radiotherapy and sadly, we never got out for that pint together that I suggested. He always had a wicked and sharp sense of humour despite his illness and as others have mentioned, a forum legend without any doubt.

God bless Matt and deepest condolences to your family. 😢😢

I didn't know him online or off really as we never conversed much but I enjoyed his posts and I remember him from the BladesMad days and have followed his shocking illness but inspired fight against it on the Mental Health thread over the past couple of years.

Nice to know his real name was Matt (I presume?) that I've just read on this thread.

R.I.P. Matt the Blade, one of us.

This is terrible, I met Matt 4 years ago when he came to quote for some building work at our house, we kept in touch and got quite close due to us both having cancer, he was a great comfort to me when I first came out of surgery and never short of advice. really lovely guy. Awful shock, I will miss him RIP mate xx

R.I.P Matt. Knew him most as Dar, met him once in the singing section on the kop (who remembers that?). Spoke to him on Facebook a bit about Australia and he seemed a top fella. A bit embarrassed I didn't realise Ain's was him although I did suspect when he said his trade in a thread. A true loss, I can't imagine how his family must be feeling but I hope there is lots of support.

R.I.P Blade.
