Incoming? Danny Rohl?

I think he's done pretty well on a limited budget (bar Ugbo...who knows if they've even paid for him) on a ship that's clearly been in choppy waters for quite some time. Must've been all-sorts going off behind the scenes there that we haven't heard about and to get a relatively poor squad to mid-table has to be applauded in some respects. Not easy to harmonise a team who aren't being paid. Do I think he's overrated? Yes a bit, no doubt - but that's not to say he hasn't done a relatively decent job there.
I think he's done a cracking job with a very poor squad.

Home form is bad? Granted. But their away form is insane. And to get a side that limited to mid table is no mean feat.

He re-signed 7 players in the summer and signed 14 new players with the 7th highest net transfer spend.
If he had a poor squad he signed 21 of them last season.

I don't think they were queuing up round the block to go to Wednesday pal

I know you're weirdly a pig hater first, but even the most ardent blade must admit their squad is not very good, and he's done a decent job with it

On a free. And was one of their better players in the system they played. Did well as a LCB.
I’m jesting, I liked Max, lovely smile.

I don’t think Rohl is as good as the pigs make out but he clearly got them playing the other season when they were all but down.

Last season they achieved about par for me, maybe 2 or 3 places ahead of where they might have ended up. They aren’t a cheaply put together side, he is operating against a backdrop of shit ownership but he knew that when he took over.

Signing 21 players who are "not very good", with the 7th highest transfer net spend, to finish 9 points off relegation is not worth this adulation.

The players weren't even getting paid half the time 😂 hardly an easy situation for an inexperienced manager to deal with

If he'd done the job at, say, Preston as opposed to Wednesday you would not be saying that

Net spend very bloated by Ugbo who's flopped after a good loan spell, also

Would be a ridiculous decision to get rid of someone as decorated (so to speak) as Wilder for someone who's done quite literally nothing and that's coming from someone like myself who thinks it may be time for Wilder to move in.

It would stratospherically hilarious though to see the meltdown over there mind so partially I'm here for it

Interesting that notorious Blades Fanboy Don Goodman was also pouring some cold water in Rohl to an extent recently.

He made the point that the points total for 12th was relatively low so it was quite hard to judge really what sort of job he’d done, despite giving him kudos for the prior season. Still not sure how much of that free hit was Rohl being good or Xisco being so abject that the bar was lowered so low.

Style of play: backwards. Makes Blackwell's football look innovative.

Overachieving budget: no, and has had a big opportunity to turn over the squad to his liking.

If he was already our manager, I'd say he's very unlikely to repeat the freakish away from, and is looking for an off ramp before results worsen and he's sacked.

The Chansiri factor only had an impact in March for about a week.It hasn't seriously impacted form or recruitment. No Wednesday fan could hand on heart say Rohl hasn't been well backed. Budgets have increased significantly and he's failed to seriously push them on.

Isn't the fact that he is still under contract getting in the way of him finding another job... I dont want him here BTW
The compensation written into his contract is massive!! Massive!!! 😂 (looks in mirror and blow myself a kiss) I like what i did there!!

But it is ridiculously high

As an example, spending £21mil on 21 players would equate to £1mil per player. Other teams night spend that on 4 or 5 players.

I don't know the exact amount he's spent so it's hard to judge his spending as it might not equate to much per player, where he had to get the most out of each player due to the lack of quality. If that's the case then he's proven himself as a coach who's able to get the most out of and improve players.

For a start, I've no idea where he's got this 21 number from 😂

He didn't spend a lot per player. A lot of them were frees or kids. He probably spent something like £4/5m and that's including a massive flop in Ugbo.

I don't get this whole hating Danny Rohl thing from some of our fans. It's very weird. He's never really had anything bad to say about us, been pretty respectful, and now he's playing them like a fiddle. What's to hate?

I don't think any of our fans "hate" Danny Rohl at all, just merely see him as the Manager of our rivals and someone we can take the piss out of!

🤣 You really are funny.

To hate someone in football terms they really have to get one over you to start with. Danny hasn't done that whatsoever.
Plenty of United fans hate Barry Bannan. Without doubt, not even a question. He's never 'got one over on us' unless I'm mistaken?

Or are you going to sit there and seriously tell me there's not any United fans that hate Barry Bannan? 😂

Comedian

If they hate Bannan they really are full of hatred. I see him as tragic comic figure...

Now as for his Mrs...that's different!
