Sure I read somewhere that he'd said he'd already made initial enquiries. I'm presuming he means in readiness.

I think he said something along the lines of "initial conversations with agents to see what's out there". I don't actually think we're going to see too many changes this summer - and I'd suggest wingers and full-backs were the least likely areas we'll see any recruitment.

Two quality centre backs one quality centre forward and I would be happy. I think some people forget how many good players we have in our squad who didn't hit top form last season.

Sometimes it only takes a change of manager for a player to find form again.

I'm not expecting many signings either. 3 or 4 tops and if they're good ones it's probably enough.

It's easy to scoff or be critical but I think people have to realistic over the quality of player we'll be able to attract. We'll be up against Champ clubs for the better quality so we may be limited to lower Champ/ upper L1 plus any that NA knows and know him.

Sun reports tug of war between both Sheffield clubs for the MK Dons winger, who's 26 years old

Fell out of favour after starting well last season.

Apparently, available for around £100k

After he played 2 games for MK last year, I can't believe these 2 clubs are in a tug of war for him.

including the centre forwards and centre backs we already have.. i reckon a few might surprise a few

I believe Adkins when he says he's going to leave it till the players are back in and go through the their initial assessments before any substantial decisions are made on recruitment. The only exceptions would be centre-half, which I'm sure he's already aware we're short of specialism there, and possibly up front. For all other positions, I think any links to players will just be paper talk at this stage.

Surely Adkins will have been watching the DVDs of last seasons performances (assuming he can manage to stay awake).

He must have a good idea by now of which positions he would like to strengthen.

"Danny Green has admitted Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United are both ‘massive clubs’ after speculation linking him with a move north."

He was a squad player for MK so although I would love to disagree with myself, Wendy are currently a "bigger" club based on current league position. therefore you take them out of the equation & why would they sign a league one squad player, and hi-ho... he must be linked with us.

I don't really know much about the guy and only vaguely remember him from his Charlton days. I hope this isn't true because its a step sideways in terms of player quality in my opinion, but if he's saying Sheffield clubs are massive he's either stiring something up himself because he wants a move or there is some truth behind the rumors.

I'll laugh like a drain if Adkins comes out and says our centre halves are fine as they are and we don't need to add. I don't agree with him but some on here will need to get "Implodecam" ready.

Its laughable that some people take every word a Manager says and reads it as the gospel. For instance, would it pay him to say "We are shit at the back and I need a couple of centre halves to cover up for the gaping holes, and while I am at it we are a team of short arses so I need to get some big blokes in."

No it wouldn't.

But it WOULD be spectacularly accurate if that was his assessment ......
