Get him sold

The likely alternative is another 1 goal season before leaving on a free

Usually think you're spot on with the football opinions, but not aligned on this one..
I think there's so much upside in Jebbison...

Loan him to League 1, watch him bag 20 and the lads worth, what? £10m?
If he did anything like that in the Championship that price might even double.

He only feels like a run of games away from putting a few of the pieces together and being a really strong player capable of doing the above.

It'd be a travesty to lose him for peanuts after we've spent so long developing him.

It could click, in which case he's got it all. Or it never clicks and we wish we cashed in 😄🤷

I'd obviously rather sell Jebbo than Iliman.

And I don't disagree with what you've said there

There is serious upside, he would score 20 in L1, and with a run of games he'd probably be an asset at PL level. Probably

The bottom line is the contract length. If he won't sign, we'd only be keeping him on the basis of what he could do this season. And he'd probably never get that run of games at all

Then what seals it for me is that we have Osula, who I think can be a better player than Jebbison

I mean this all depends on what our intentions are long term. If we actually believe in the potential that's there and actually use him, then tell whoever to fuck off and sign him up to an extension. The issue is the club have done the square root of zero to indicate to Jebbo that they have any intention of utilising him, and if I was in his shoes I'd have no thoughts of extending, and as such if there's a reasonable offer on the table then a sale should be considered

Agree with both points. If he's going to play the odd minutes here and there what's the point in keeping him so he leaves on a free next summer?? Makes zero sense financially.

Completely different to the Ndiaye situation aswell.

How about we remember we are now in the PL and don’t need to sell our promising young talent. Especially to a relegation rival like Everton.

And Jebbo is a promising young talent. He’s only 19.

What if he refuses to sign a new contract?

Dont forget he also has Traore as another young striker to compete with as well now (whenever he freaking arrives!)

We need to get him on a new contract asap really. We shouldn’t be letting a player go willingly that we couldn’t afford to sign a replacement of similar or better quality for. And before people say he’s not very good or hasn’t done anything yet I’m going to use Antonie Semenyo as an example he’s scored 3 in 21 at League two level and then 16 in 112 at Championship level and then was sold to Bournemouth last year at the age of 22 for 10 million.

Jebbo has scored 7 in 20 at League one level and 1 in 24 at Championship level and is only 19 using Semenyo as a yard stick if Jebbo has one half decent season in the Championship or above in the next 3 years he’s a 10 million pound plus asset. Given at this time it looks like our max fee might be around 4 million pounds it would seem like madness to me to let an asset that could very easily become worth over 10 million pounds walk out of the door because in a season where he dealt with injury he didn’t score a ton of goals in the Championship at 19.

Both can't hit a barn door, shocking Finnishers nothing natural and can't see that improving any time soon, flog um both and buy a striker I'd take keffer Moore over them 2 all day

Any business needs to protect the value of its assets. Young strikers in the EPL / EFL are like hens teeth, tie them down and with even a reasonable level of performance someone will pay big bucks.

be able to get Moore and Madine for under £2m!!! no brainer isn't it

Hecky needs to back or sack Jebbo

Believe in him and play him, or he’s not part of his plans and send out on loan or sell.

Jebbo can’t have yet another season as a fridge player. No good for club and certainly no good for the lad.

We have something like 17 players out of contract at the end of the season our recruitment this season should also tie in with getting the players we want to retain, signing new contracts prior to the end of this transfer window.

I don't think it's quite 17, and most of which we have options of an additional year.

I think the three players that we risk losing are Berge, Jebbison and N'Daiye

Mcburnie, Bogle, Egan, Osula, Lowe, Norwood, Davies, Coulibady, Fleck, Amissah, Fleck, Basham, Osborne, RND - as well as the three you have mentioned.

I know we will not want to renew all of these, but those that we do need to be done in this transfer window.

What?????? Both John and Jimmy are out of contract next year?

Calvert Lewin is a great yard stick to measure Jebbison. When Wilder took over he'd had him on loan at Northampton, gave him a chance in the first team at the Blades and then sold him to Everton for 1m at age 19, I believe. The consensus of most Blades was that it was a decent deal for someone who promised a lot but seemed unlikely to to develop into a top talent. Move on to present day and (injury record accepted) he's regarded as a top Premier league striker.
If at all possible Jebbison and Osula need time and support to progress, they're only kids and at the very early stage of their career.

Luckily for him he already has 7 league 1 goals (in 20 games). Just another 13 to go. Then……profit?

Or compare him to where someone like Harry Kane was at in his development when he was the same age as Jebbison. I’m not suggesting Jebbo will be as good as Kane, of course, but his career shows how much patience is needed when judging the development of a young striker.

The players you listed above (with the possible exception of Coulibaly) apparently have options for extension.

Don't think that's right mate, most have already had their options exercised.

Very possibly, I'm basing it off a conversation with Darren Smith on Blades Ramble - it's quite possible I've confused the details, or they're talking shit 🤣
