I was at the 1990 reunion dinner and not one of the blokes I spoke to had anything good to say about this shower of shit playing for us now. Mark Todd was scathing, but then he was pissed.

It really does go to show doesn't it?

That's a semi pro league because football is not the main nor sole paid occupation of the players.

I addressed this point above.
I don't think there isn't a distinction any longer between amateur football clubs and professional football clubs. All clubs (and therefore leagues) are considered by the FA to be professional, whether clubs choose to pay players (one or more) ,is the decision of the clubs.

Note - There used to be the amateur Cup Final at Wembley; which no longer exists, of which Bishop Auckland where regular winners.

Deane scored 50 goals before Whitehouse did.

Dane Whitehouse is the most recent player to reach the milestone. Since Dane Whitehouse reached 50, the closest we have are:

Ched Evans (48)
Michael Brown (35)
James Beattie (34)
Marcelo (33)
Richard Cresswell (30)
Paul Devlin (29)
Peter Ndlovu (29)
Andy Gray (28)
Carl Asaba, Marcus Bent (24)
Fjortoft, Kabba (23)

Just shows how poor we have been since 1997 or how we have been unable to hang onto anybody half decent

Richard Cresswell is our 5th most prolific striker in almost 20 years?!

Most non league sides are semi pro, this is mainly judged on the fact they do very few hours training, normally Tuesday, Thursday, unless they have a game Tuesday and they also have other jobs. Some clubs turn Pro and this means they go full time, training nearly everyday and getting paid more money for doing so. There is still a distinction between amateur and Professional sides and always will be due to the fact the money will always stay at the very top, only very rich or dodgy owners will have any chance at all in non league of ever achieving anything.

Where are you? Does the board meeting include you, or perhaps you just open the pack of biscuits and that is it?
