I never though finishing the season in mid table of division 3 would make me happy but it will this year It will.

There's no doubt the players are there to stay up, but it looks like it's going down to the wire. Ominous echos of 1979 or 1980 or whenever it was. Though we have a much better manager this time around.

We were always going to drop into the bottom three today, (which is one of the reasons I would rather be playing in the League this weekend, but I am not getting on that hobby horse again) However the results didn't go too badly for us, a point against Peterboro and we leap up about 3 places, a win and its about 5 places.

Getting the point or win may be the tricky thing however.

Not quite all the other teams around us will have played the previous evening and then comes the hard part ...us getting a point (less likely if we beat Fulham tomorrow IMO)

I'm just looking forward to trips to Altrincham FC. I can get there in 15 mins on the tram. Plus there are losts of other away games I could get to in about 30 mins. Had enough of the proper leagues. I want SUFC to be in the Poundshop Premier League. How good would that sound?

We are too big a club to go down relax, I know we have been relegated in every relegation fight we have gone into since 1976, but that is not going to happen this time, definitely not, certainly not, it won't happen..

...will it?

Course not.

*shits pants*

I have only just realised there is a full programme of games on Tuesday like HG I though this was one of our games in hand, we could be second bottom before kick off.

Have some of you been on the piss?

Relegation would be good for the club? What absolute bollocks,it would be catastrophic.

I think some said that when we got relegated from the PL and The Championship.

We like to assume its a chance to "start a fresh", "clear the decks" "off load dead wood" etc etc.

When does it ever workout like we think it will?

It's true, I know a lot of the posts on this thread have been tongue in cheek, but there does seem to be a general feeling on here and Bladesmad that if we did go down we would just storm straight back as League two champions.

I think that it's not 1981 and us coming straight back up is far far from certain.

I never thought we'd bounce nicely up out of this division, but if we went down again this year I'd expect nothing other than a rampage in Div2.

But do I want to risk that? Not in a million years, no. :)

I remember most of us thinking we would storm back to the Championship as League 1 champions pretty much at the first attempt.

It's the blades way. :)

I cannot honestly see where we're going with this thread, tongue in cheek, wind up, off load dead wood etc.

I'm as ready for a laugh as much as the next bloke but suggesting that dropping a division is a chance to start afresh, clear the decks etc is fuckin madness. In view that we've dropped back into the relegation places today, it's not even remotely amusing.

If some of you want to visit Dagenham, Fleetwood, Accrington and other grounds you've not been to, then fuckin go one weekend when you've nothing better to do,
