Players I would like to see us try and sign.

Benrahma Has the pace skill and trickery and would add real flair to the team and can unlock the oppositions defence in an instant and create something out of nothing he reminds me of Riyad Mahrez has the potential to go right to the top i think he would be a worthwhile investment with real resale value.

Harry Wilson i think he would be a brilliant addition too i would take him every day of the week in place of Norwood he adds a real goal threat great at set pieces and brings a real goal threat from midfield to the team and would love to see CW go for him he has scored 7 this season in a team that has struggled i think he would flourish in our team.

Demerai Gray would be another quality player I would love to see us go for i think he would add that extra bit of quality in the final 3rd for us and help us on the counter attack with his pace and trickery and it something we lack and think it could be the move the lad needs as well as his career seems to be going stale stuck on the bench at Leicester and think he would link up well with McBurnie and Mousett.

Eberechi Eze is everything that we have missed this season pace and a real eye for goal and someone who is not afraid to shoot from long range and test the opposition goalkeeper which is something we have lacked this season instead trying to walk the ball in more often than not which has been frustrating.

The lad has real potential and brings goals assists and real creativity to the team scoring 14 goals and 8 assists in an average championship team.

Would love to see CW sign him but know it would take a lot sign him but would be a real investment like Benrahma who I believe is going to the top too.

Who would you like to see CW go for and why.

You’ve named 5 players we cannot afford to sign as per CW comments. Don’t understand this.

We are heavily linked with Swift at 3.5million. I expect it to be him.

Typical of many of our fans so defeatist 🤣 who says we cant afford them?

Don't get any United fan saying they want Benrahma. Never in a million years would he fit our style. Do like Eze though but no way he's coming.

Why because he is a quality flair player and not the type to run himself into the ground like Basham and Osborn 🙄

I wouldn't say we couldn't afford them, I'd think we'd have to definitely sell one or two assets though..

No, because he’s been heavily linked with the likes of Chelsea and Leicester who pay considerably more money in wages than we do.
We also do not play in a formation or style which he would naturally fit.
If he happens to be a available for under £20 million and is happy to take under 20k/week then maybe we’d have a look, but logic and common sense say he costs a lot more than we have.

3 are wingers, we haven't played with any for 4 years, eze is a 10 or inside wide player so again I can't see where he fits in the current system, before anyone says mcgoldricks replacement, he's got a completely different skillset to the one required for that position in our system.

They can play up top as well or in behind.

Dusan Tadic?

31, so no real sell on value, but experienced in the Prem and still banging them in and racking up assists for Ajax.

He doesn't track back, we need our forwards to track back.

Benrahma is better than any of our current forwards but we cannot afford him. We need goals and to improve our strike rate in this area or will be difficult next year.

We were 20th in shots taken and 20th in shots on goal so we need to create a lot more next season whether it be strikers who can create chances for themselves or others or improving midfield creativity. If we start next season with McBurnie, McGoldrick and Sharp I will be concerned as it puts so much pressure on the defence again.

It hasn't really worked out (yet) doing it with Callum Robinson, he posted similar numbers if not better in the championship than all of them. I think they are all good players, but I just don't see them in our 352. Playing as a winger/10/wide forward, you see a lot of pitch and are 9/10 playing facing the goal you're attacking, as a St it's completely different, central areas, back to goal, first touch etc.

I agree we need to improve on them, Benrahma's not the one though.

Wilder‘s pattern has been to buy players who fit roles. He‘s probably not created roles to fit his signings since League 1.

So given limited funds, I predict signings that will cause much consternation amongst the interweb experts.

....and possibly a loanee wonder kid from the top 4. Liverpool have a few who need regular games.

Brewster ?

I don’t see us signing any of the players mentioned in the OP, too expensive.

John Swift and Todd Cantwell might be a little more realistic and I would take them.

Harry Wilson is an interesting shout. I'm not sure what Liverpool loaning him out this season suggests - is he a saleable asset or their most highly thought of youngster, needing premier league game time. As they now thin their squad, it may be that they intend to use him more.

Of those mentioned, I'd ask about a loan for him.

In terms of who else, I'd play Freeman in a more advanced role and sign Swift. Then invest further funds into a forward a RCM and a cover CB.

Cantwell would be as much as Benrahma probably.

The manager of Sheffield United has said we cannot afford them. Hope that clear that one up nicely.
Bladezz I am not disagreeing with you but Wilder did say similar things last season who would have thought we would spend the sort of money we did, £60 million or so?

What a manager says regarding spend and what he knows tend to be rather different.

Also don't you think that players values have dropped in line with a reduction in clubs spending power?

As I say I am not disagreeing with your general points.
