Right then lads.

I’ve got some good news.

David Silva is coming to have a season with us.

The bad news is his salary is £10m for the year so don’t come knocking on my door for a raise !!!!

UTB

Tom Cairney... Depends on whether Fulham go up or not... Wages and transfer fee might be a little bit more than we're happy to spend also. Always thought he's a good player though

Cantwell would be as much as Benrahma probably.

I’m not sure about that. Norwich are skint by all accounts and may need to offload. I don’t think some of his suitors are completely convinced yet either, he’s still a gamble but one worth taking I think.

I would be a bit surprised if he cost more than £10m but it’s just my opinion. Norwich might have a much higher valuation and clubs may be daft enough to pay it. We have the current economic climate as well don’t forget. You can take 10-15% off transfer fees just for that.

Bladezz I am not disagreeing with you but Wilder did say similar things last season who would have thought we would spend the sort of money we did, £60 million or so?

What a manager says regarding spend and what he knows tend to be rather different.

Also don't you think that players values have dropped in line with a reduction in clubs spending power?

As I say I am not disagreeing with your general points.
Even if all that is true, and I 100% agree by the way, there is nothing to suggest we couldn’t afford Benrahmas wage demands if Chelsea and Leicester are in for him.
We will have one of the lowest 3 wage bills next season in the league, again, so we won’t be able to compete for anyone who is also interesting any other side in the top 10, maybe apart from Burnley who have to cut their cloth next season.

I dont think Norwich are too skint to be fair, which is why they have gone down without a fight, as they didn't spend anything, and have about £60m to come in parachute. I'd be surprised if Cantwell was allowed to go for less than £20m, and I'd guess at £25m.

Who are you selling to be able to afford someone like Eze ?
There's several players I could think of.. JOC comes to mind. However I'm not saying we'd have to sell more than one player. For instance if we sold Lunny and Robinson, put the money we got to what we have now and see what happens?

Not necessarily players I want, but one's I think we could be interested in and possibly realistic

Swift
Cantwell
Buendia
Jed Wallace
Daniel Johnson
Marcus Maddison
Connor Gallagher Loan
Billy Gilmour Loan

Benarahma been linked with Chelsea , Eze I think would be gettsble , Swift seems to be mentioned every second breath , also like Tom Cairney , Deloufeu . Think we might have to cast our nets a bit further into Europe to get this type of player for right money

maybe go for jeff hendricks on a free from burnley

Billy Gilmour ?
Isnt he a Golfer 🤷‍♂️

Typical of many of our fans so defeatist 🤣 who says we cant afford them?

Not about being defeatist, more about being realist. an impressive list of players there but let's spitball a cost, 50-60m? We haven't got it, if we spend 50% of that we will have done well.

Just how I see it but plenty of historical evidence to back that up

How do you know we have not got 50-60m by my reckoning we spent around 68m last season and we have just finished 9th in the premier league so how do you come to the conclusion that we cant afford it?.

I dont know to be fair, just my opinion. I hope you are right of course, but our interest in John Swift suggests to me the market place we will be shopping in.

Time will tell, I'd be more than happy to be proven wrong and we get one or two of your suggestions. They would without doubt up the quality.

You keep ignoring the fact that the club said Berge was brought in using part of the summer budget.
Factor that in, and how do your figures look then?

No one said it was out of the summer budget, Bettis said that it was separate from the January budget but never mentioned anything about it impacting the coming seasons budget.

Betis: if the opportunity hadn’t arisen (to do the Sander deal) the money would have just rolled forward to the summer.

So the budget was £40-50 Million, which I think we’ll match this summer but it still won’t buy most of those you’re suggesting and that’s before we get into wages we won’t be able to offer.

Gerard Deolfeu please..not sure if he's affordable...If not Eze or Benrama.

Makes no odds we still got a quality young player that most of the top clubs in Europe were looking at so onwards and upwards UTB

Harry Wilson is, quite frankly, gash. If you watch him closely he does virtually nothing all game bar the occasional highlight reel free kick and is so far from a Wilder player it's frightening plus he's an out and out winger.

Yeah yet scored 7 goals in a relegation team 🤣 he is better attacking wise i his position than anything we have.

Agreed. Don't rate him.

Benrhama plays wide left in a 433. Exactly the same position as Callum Robinson did and the exact reason he won't even be on our radar.

I think he's a good enough player that he could play McGoldrick's role. Irregardless, there's no way we can afford him.
