If you could go to one old stadium to watch us play away

Highbury is one that stands out, it was a proper historic ground, and United really turned up and got a result (sort of), against the odds, both times I went there.

It's also one that proper Arsenal fans must really miss, as they are living proof that a big, shiny new stadium does not automatically take you to the next level in football terms.

I'll also miss Goodison, which was one of my favourite away grounds.

Highbury and Goodison to me are what English stadiums should be.

I know we're in a generation where they probably can't be like that sadly. But they were brilliant.

Done a few of those - Old Wembley, Burnden Park, Maine Road, Highbury, Griffin Park, Saltergate.

Other than Wembley and Chezzys new ground I’ve not bothered with the new versions of the others.

New Stadia doesn’t excite me. I know some clubs have to do it, like Chesterfield, Rotherham and Donny to almost survive and become more of a community location, but I don’t always see that they’re a positive as there is always a soul around an old ground.

Everton’s new thing looks awful, can see it becoming a huge financial burden for them

Demolished / no longer in use grounds I've been to;

Premier League - Highbury, Maine Road, Withdean, Griffin Park, Goodison, Upton Park, White Hart Lane, Filbert Street, The Dell

Championship - Roker Park, Highfield Road, Ayresome Park, Manor Ground, Victoria Ground, Boothferry Park, Ninian Park

League 1 - Elm Park, Burnden Park, Leeds Road, Millmoor, Springfield Park, County Ground (Northampton),

League 2 - Belle Vue, Plough Lane, Saltergate, Layer Road.

West Ham's old ground.
Villa is still quality and my most enjoyable PL ground in the Warnock era, even though we got battered. It was the first match after the American take over, a new Villa scarf was on each seat and the European cup winning team were introduced. Incredible atmosphere!

COH are clearly watching this forum. A scarf on each seat. You lot can thank me later!
