I love O'Hares total commitment and non stop effort that has had a huge impact on our play. The lad never stops. Although he hasn't been on top form on the ball he will become a top player for us when his touch returns.
Some on here question why he get,s picked every week. Look at his stats and you will see why.
Love the lad.

I'm not sure what stats you're referring to?

We've been a bit spoiled with Berge, McGoldrick, Duffy, McBurnie and Ndiaye all occupying that space in between midfield and up front and doing so so effectively.
The drop-off to O'Hare, with the ball, has been quite stark and surprising to me.

I've seen him look really good for Coventry in that no.10 role, so haven't written him off. However, I do find myself feeling very underwhelmed and often quite disappointed by his touch and lack of vision / ambition with the ball.

I looked at his stats before the derby when pigs were comparing Bannan to our players. The stats aren’t that pretty for the important things like goals and assists, but I get your point. He should be doing more in the attacking sense, certainly. He’s probably better for us without the ball, whereas Brewster is better with the ball as he looks up more. He runs around a lot

I’d say that O’Hare has been lucky in some ways that Souza and Hamer both got suspended, Arblaster got injured and so did Brewster. You could also say he’s been unlucky to not get a break as well and has fortunately been injury free

Seems to me that people see O'Hare one or two ways. "He's either useless or a superstar"

IMO, He's neither.

He's an average championship player with strengths and weaknesses.

For the clubs outlay on O'Hare and given the budget when we signed him, He's a useful member of the squad.

No more no less.

How on earth can you put Mcburnie in that list?

I don’t see him as average in the slightest. I feel that played in the right position, system and style, he is one of the top midfielders in the division.

This set up hasn’t helped him. With one up top he has had to learn the defensive covering side of the game and his attacking qualities become lost and ineffective.

With two up top, O Hare comes into his own.

Per 90 mins, the stats show he's one of the best in the division in his posting in terms of; completed passes, passing accuracy, long ball accuracy, chances created, crossing accuracy, touches of the ball, fouls won and recoveries.

Yeah he could probably improve on his goals / assists but he got a pretty big assist in our last match.

For me he's worth his place in the side as although he hasn't set the world alight, he's also not really put a foot wrong and I believe there's more to come.

He’s a grafter who covers a lot of ground, hence my comparison with Osborn. For us O’Hare has great stats when out of possession. Covering back and pressing.

He does not do so well in possession in the final third, too often losing the ball or giving it away. Other than that he is a busy, hard working effective footballer. That’s why he keeps getting picked.

The other stuff will come good eventually when his game clicks, and he finds the right foil. He only needs space and options.I don’t think he’s crap or brilliant. Definitely a player in there.

The big question for me is, can we accept two or more youngsters drafted into the starting line up, or first team squad regulars?

We have more loan vacancies, but quality loans cost money too, and we don’t know how much, if anything we have.

If we do get promoted, are they good enough to maintain the side in the EPL. It would take a brave step by management to do that, and puts youngsters in the shop window, at a time when we might need them more than ever?

The age of the squad as a whole might dip, but if they are good enough, we should be blooding them now, without undermining results? We do have older, experienced professionals in the squad to balance those younger starters.

Instead of sending top young talent out on loan, give them real experience in Blades first team squad! It is happening already anyway.

This lad works his socks off for that team, he’s all over the pitch and he’s the best presser of the ball we’ve had, great little player and will get better!

Coventry fan here, you can't underestimate the amount of work he does to stop attacks at source. I believe it is something we have really missed.

He's always been hit and miss when in good positions but that's why he's 26 and playing the Championship still.

For me he does stuff that McBurnie used to and didn't get appreciated.

His pressing that many have mentioned (that led to the sending off and win against BC.)

Lead up passes and movement that create space for others final balls (whilst I have to agree many aren't landing, he does try them) Pigs goal

He does get in pockets and receives the ball in difficult positions that others can't often getting free kicks or opening space, this shouldn't be underestimated.

Yeah seen quite a few times he's in possession of the ball with 2 or 3 defenders around him in the final 3rd of the pitch with no option to pass to. So unless he can gain a free kick or turns into prime Messi he eventually gets crowded out and loses the ball.

I said similar to a mate and he responded - "great so he can run far "

He's adding far more to the team out of possession than he is unlocking the defence, which i didn't expect.

None of the highlights seem to go back far enough. But at Blackburn away, i'm sure it was him tracking back way into our half which led to us getting the ball and it leading to the 2nd goal.

It was his pressing and interception that also got the Bristol City man sent off

Have a like for your username. No, no, we were delighted. I mean at first I was mortified, then you were born and we grew to like you.

I'm certainly not anti-O'Hare, but I'm still waiting to see what it is that prompted our pursuit of him. Our style of play really requires that the 3 attacking midfielders make a noticeable contribution in terms of goals and assists. O'Hare so far has 3 assists, 0 goals. That is slightly harsh, as he was solely responsible for the goal vs Watford, although he gets no statistical recognition for it, but even if he did, I'd still feel like he ought to have a greater output than this, at this stage of the season.

His work to press defences has been great, but he has room to improve while on the ball. Too often he seems to run into dead ends, wasting possession, and losing us opportunity to threaten the opposition goal. He has occasionally shown some good moments of link up play, but these have tended to be he and Hamer connecting, resulting in one of them trying some absurdly intricate trick or flick to keep it going, rather than making a more simple pass, or just going for goal.

I think he'd benefit greatly were he just to do things in a more straightforward manner, like he did with his assist for Campbell vs Wednesday. Receives the ball, controls it, and immediately plays Campbell in. Sometimes he seems to be trying a little too hard to be intricate, when he could be a bit more direct about things and would probably come out looking better.

Never mind Mcburnie

Sanda Berge worst player I’ve ever seen at BDTBL by a country mile
You’ve not been very often then. Were you even alive when Nigel Adkins managed us? Micky Adams? David Weir?

Do you not remember the bomb scare that was Nyron Nosworthy? Clearly not.
