Could we go the season unbeaten in League One?

I recall that Harry Maguire stated something like that in an interview last year. It's just naive to believe it is a possibility with the quality we have in the squad. Resilient we may be but invincible we aren't.

not really , its only a few years since they won the cup
they still have some qualities

I didn't mean tonight particularly, Portsmouth looked the best team we've played so far, but generally, it is a shockingly poor level. The standard of finishing is the biggest difference I've noticed from the league above.

I d like Danny to give Miller a try in a league game, ,with Porter
we will stumble across a goal scoring formula one day, hopefully soon

We haven't hit our best yet... could we go unbeaten?

How do you know we haven't hit our best - you're assuming that Blackman will get better, Flynn will start beating his man, McMahon, Williams, MacAllister et al - Perhaps this is the best they will ever get!
It appears that no amount of practice and training can improve dead ball kicks, retaining possession, taking guilt edged chances, running the flanks etc etc
Perhaps everyone - this is the best this team is and manager is capable of!!
Why does everyone think that they will get better? - I've not seen any evidence to suggest that they will improve
Perhaps they are good enough in this poor league!!

Of all the teams in the FL, we have the best chance of going unbeaten.

Will we???? Not a chance...

Aw jeez, not this shit again.

Well you do keep coming up with the same wrong facts...I'm going to call you the "king of wrong"

Once again, we've been beaten twice - once in the Play Off final and once in the League Cup, so we're not even unbeaten this season... Lets not try and grasp onto these things by deleting defeats to suit your argument

In my book we have now gone 22 games unbeaten and thus equalled the club record...

Is your book stored in the Fiction section of the library??? :)

You may scoff, but in the International Union of Sad Football Statisticians, penalty "defeats" are counted as draws and we therefore have equalled the record.

I admit, it's a pretty sad record when one of those unbeaten games led to us failing to get promoted, so we will just have to go another 6 games undefeated to unequivocally equal the record...

But we all know that we lost both the play off final AND v Burton, we didn't take either as a draw... we lost.

I don't scoff....

...I make snide remarks!!!

But we lost the penalty shoot out, not the game.

Seriously, if you look at any global records of competitions (World Cup, Champions League etc) where penalties are used, games that go to penalty shoot outs are always treated as draws.

Seriously, if you go to the matches and see your team lose on a penalty shoot out

- you feel shit because .......

YOU LOSE THE FUCKING GAME!

Huh? We lost the game and the penalty shoot out.... that was how the game was settled.

I'm sure thats what the global records do, but when you look at the world cup that was settled on pens, the winner of the shootout gets the world cup. Its not shared is it.

We lost! but since then we've gone 15 games unbeaten

Indeed. The game you are thinking of is the 94 final between Italy and Brazil and if you look at Italy's and Brazil's cumulative World Cup records, you will see that game is recorded as a draw.

I appreciate what you are saying, but the recognised convention is to record these games as draws and, according to that convention, we have a 22 game unbeaten record.
