11 years ago the FA/PL couldn't relegate them as it wasn't the fans fault. Well yesterdays disgraceful scenes were. Over to you PL/FA.

apparently their owner had a coin chucked at his glasses which was the main reason they sent him out of the box
I seem to recall when it sailed nearby, it had a bit of an entourage? I bow to your expertise in this area pommpey but to the average Joe like me, it came across as Putin waving his cock around a bit.
Putin can wave his cock all he wants. Tailing that piece of shit at all times is one of three or four silent, black messengers of death from NATO signatory states will will gladly send all manner of unpleasantness their way at sixty to seventy knots, and they won't know a thing about it, or be able to do anything about it either.
It is basically a floating target, as are all aircraft carriers. HMS QNLZ and her sister ship HMS PWLS will be similarly sunk quickly if the punching starts. It's just that ours will be 'less quickly', meaning we'd at least be able to get aircraft off the deck first.

Interesting stuff. So Gordon Brown's bribe to the Scottish shipbuilders re. our two new aircraft carriers was, basically, a waste of taxpayers money? I've often thought that these types of ship are only suitable for a mega-power patrolling vast areas like The Pacific or South China Sea. Would you agree?
The way they got that stadium is a farce. Why should us taxpayers fund it ?
It'll be a lot easier to guess who WON'T be paying for an increase! The ironic thing is that they don't actually pay for stewarding and it is included in the miserably low rent, so the stewarding requirement will need to be increased after Saturday. Let's take a guess who ends up paying for this increase?
I agree. I have no issue with west ham paying for the ground fairly. It cant and shouldn’t stay empty. Instead, without public consultation, an agreement is made by ex mayor of London and west ham to lease the ground at a small rate that is not in the interest of anyone but west ham themselves. Sadiq Kahn, the current mayor asked for a public inquiry into how and why this was made without consulting the public but so far nothing. The whole thing stinks. At least their current owners are ruining the club. The ironic thing is that they don't actually pay for stewarding and it is included in the miserably low rent, so the stewarding requirement will need to be increased after Saturday. If I hear another radio presenter pronounce it as Sallysbury rather than Soulsbury I'll just sigh again and swear at the radio.

Nah. They are very much needed and they put us back in the Premier League with regard our power projection. The previous three - Invincible, Illustrious and Ark Royal were scaled down make-do's when Healey cancelled CVA-01 in 1966 and gave the money to the RAF to develop the TRS1, a massive fucking error as that itself failed hard.
We will always need to place 4.5 acres of UK real estate off someone's coast to make them think we mean business. Think about the press and public reaction to our inability to get involved and their expectation for the RN to do what it is designed to do with limited platforms and manpower. The new carriers are multi modal fifth generation works of British engineering mastery and can do Strike (jets, bombs, kill) Littoral Manouevre (marines, helicopters, tanks, kill) or Humanitarian (helicopters, containers of food, medics and engineering) missions across the globe. People have just got to get over the 'how much do they cost?' and concentrate on the 'how much do they give us?' question.
Gordon Brown though? What a bellend.

Points deduction?
we should know frombitter experience with the Don Valley debacle, theres no financial way of any up keep of such venues
they simply dont pay for themselves
I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Council, wanting to be rid of the DVS, quoted exorbitant rates when people applied to use the place for whatever reason.
Hence there were no takers, hence, the council got their way.
Crying shame actually IMO
