11 years ago the FA/PL couldn't relegate them as it wasn't the fans fault. Well yesterdays disgraceful scenes were. Over to you PL/FA.

Oh no, it wasn't. It was the design of the stadium! Get ready for another taxpayer-funded bailout:

Long term, the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham may hold the key to West Ham's future at the London Stadium, if athletics can be persuaded to make the 50,000-seat revamped Alexander Stadium its home, freeing West Ham from the straitjacket of an athletics track and a stadium that is an awkward fit for football.

(And Brady didn't notice that it was an athletics stadium? Wake up, love. This isn't the fucking Apprentice. So West Ham and their scummy supporters cause all this, and the 'solution' is moving the Commonwealth Games? o_O)

Karren Brady, the chief executive credited with getting 'the deal of the century' - although that accolade may have been awarded prematurely given the fallout when she took West Ham to the Olympic Stadium - will need all of her negotiating skills if she is to relocate athletics to Birmingham on West Ham's behalf.

Yet, even if she is successful, the Commonwealth Games are not due to take place until 2022, meaning it could be five years or more before West Ham can remodel their home in a way that will leave their ground fit solely for football and summer pop concerts.

There are other, smaller, adjustments available. Seats could be moved slightly nearer the pitch, but would then not be covered by the roof.

Equally, to adjust the lower tier would give the impression of further distance for those in the upper tier, leading to more complaints about sight lines.

According to samuel.gif

Two problems with this. Would the armies of BBC's overpaid 'reporters' be happy with spending their exes in Brum? And, of course it's not possible to move West Ham. It's 'The Academy of Football', dontcha know?

(Brought to you by the same liars who devised 'This city is ours' and 'WAWAW'.)

One wonders how they would protest if West Ham were bottom of League One and David Weir was in their manager

They should get a points deduction.......
Oh wait, Brooking will testify he toughed it out and stayed in his seat so no one was in danger.

I seem to recall when it sailed nearby, it had a bit of an entourage? I bow to your expertise in this area pommpey but to the average Joe like me, it came across as Putin waving his cock around a bit.

Putin can wave his cock all he wants. Tailing that piece of shit at all times is one of three or four silent, black messengers of death from NATO signatory states will will gladly send all manner of unpleasantness their way at sixty to seventy knots, and they won't know a thing about it, or be able to do anything about it either.

It is basically a floating target, as are all aircraft carriers. HMS QNLZ and her sister ship HMS PWLS will be similarly sunk quickly if the punching starts. It's just that ours will be 'less quickly', meaning we'd at least be able to get aircraft off the deck first.

Fair enough Pomps, as I say I know you know your stuff with this. My naval knowledge is pretty much limited to (the very good fictionwise) Patrick Robinson books.

Interesting stuff. So Gordon Brown's bribe to the Scottish shipbuilders re. our two new aircraft carriers was, basically, a waste of taxpayers money? I've often thought that these types of ship are only suitable for a mega-power patrolling vast areas like The Pacific or South China Sea. Would you agree?

Crab Holiday Cruises did struggle somewhat.

Nah. They are very much needed and they put us back in the Premier League with regard our power projection. The previous three - Invincible, Illustrious and Ark Royal were scaled down make-do's when Healey cancelled CVA-01 in 1966 and gave the money to the RAF to develop the TRS1, a massive fucking error as that itself failed hard.

We will always need to place 4.5 acres of UK real estate off someone's coast to make them think we mean business. Think about the press and public reaction to our inability to get involved and their expectation for the RN to do what it is designed to do with limited platforms and manpower. The new carriers are multi modal fifth generation works of British engineering mastery and can do Strike (jets, bombs, kill) Littoral Manouevre (marines, helicopters, tanks, kill) or Humanitarian (helicopters, containers of food, medics and engineering) missions across the globe. People have just got to get over the 'how much do they cost?' and concentrate on the 'how much do they give us?' question.

Gordon Brown though? What a bellend.

Tevez affair aside, The way they got that stadium is a farce. Why should us taxpayers fund it ? that excuse of a football club need bringing down a division, Fucking vile club, hope to god we play them next season. All hell will break loose. Hate Wendy, hate weeds and hate west sham.

The ironic thing is that they don't actually pay for stewarding and it is included in the miserably low rent, so the stewarding requirement will need to be increased after Saturday. Let's take a guess who ends up paying for this increase?

It'll be a lot easier to guess who WON'T be paying for an increase!

I agree. I have no issue with west ham paying for the ground fairly. It cant and shouldn’t stay empty. Instead, without public consultation, an agreement is made by ex mayor of London and west ham to lease the ground at a small rate that is not in the interest of anyone but west ham themselves. Sadiq Kahn, the current mayor asked for a public inquiry into how and why this was made without consulting the public but so far nothing. The whole thing stinks. At least their current owners are ruining the club.

Of course, the other reward for this isn't just fatty Samuels rooering.

The odious genital wart that is Russell Brand is also a dyed-in-the-wool-mate, 'oops Gladys, 'ows yer apples an' pears lavvim' West Ham United fan.

He was all over his fucking vile social meejah programme when they acquired the Olympic Stadium trying to justify the scam.

Wonder how he's doing now?

why do they keep building athletics stadiums when theres no call for them
no one watces athletics apart from the reallylarge hideouly priced blue ribband events

we should know frombitter experience with the Don Valley debacle, theres no financial way of any up keep of such venues
they simply dont pay for themselves

when will people stop building them, its as insane as building a 200m pound horse dressage arena in Rotherham

very hard to justify

Australia built an immense Olympic village thats damn near derelict

and as for Rio https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2...ues-already-falling-into-a-state-of-disrepair

What aircraft? They don't arrive for a few years I thought.

It was TSR-1 Pommpey. And cancelling that was a fucking joke too! At least we eventually got the Harrier. That pissed the Argies off ha ha.

Proper football played the right way the West Ham way in a proper authentic 4 sided football specific stadium.... oh wait fuck off hahahahaha winning a free stadium by promising to keep the running track. Like the kid in class who reminded the teacher to hand out homework. Shite soulless nothing club now. nothing but an extension to a shopping centre. At least if they leave 15 mins early they can be first in the queue for Zizzis...

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Council, wanting to be rid of the DVS, quoted exorbitant rates when people applied to use the place for whatever reason.

Hence there were no takers, hence, the council got their way.

Crying shame actually IMO

was a white elephant from day 1
they would never in a million years get blue riband athletic events in sheffield
while ever theres an arena in london
not even Glasgow will ever fill the stadium they built for the commonwealth there just arent the spectators

honestly has anyone on here ever attended an athletics event, a run of the mill one
its not something would get me excited

beach volleyball ,,,, well theres interest there

I don't understand why they're protesting.

Is it because their team is shit?
Well so what. They've been shit before and gone down. Plenty of other clubs get relegated from the Prem and don't react in this way.

Is it because of the stadium?
If so why weren't they protesting before they moved?

I have no sympathy with the owners either. They seem like typical seedy businesspeople who get involved in football for the wrong reasons.
