What's the science behind this logic?
But that's not what's happening at football clubs where they are effectively closing down. They should take time off work, obviously. The bigger point is that it’s more important to keep supermarkets open than it is football stadiums.
no difference in numbers from a 20k football crowd and a populated Meadowhall or any large supermarket.
The virus isn't going to be over. It's a case of society developing immunity to it longer term. Also how can they postpone the season , the peak is not supposed to be till 3 months even then they'll be a few months after you would think.
Could actually see them cancelling this season. we are nowhere near the peak of the Virus.
Where would they fit in the football left if the virus isnt over till september ?
They'd be no other option to cancel it
Go to Meadowhall and there will be thousands of people there walking round in an enclosed area for extended periods of time.As far as I know, I've never been in a supermarket where 20,000 people have stood next to each other for two hours solid.
Asda at Park Royal. Fucking nightmare. Queues were so long you’d get twats standing in the queue with a half full trolley whilst the missus finished the shopping. You’d be stood there thinking ‘at least I’ll get served soon as they’ve only got half a trolley then some woman with badly bleached hair and badly bleached jeans would turn up with a basket full of food and dump it in the trolley. As far as I know, I've never been in a supermarket where 20,000 people have stood next to each other for two hours solid.
I know but the peak will be over and can return to relative normalityThe virus isn't going to be over. It's a case of society developing immunity to it longer term.
What does he knowThe statements made by the Chief Scientific Officer yesterday.
Very true. If the season is voided, which I seriously doubt - they'll find some way to finish it - the worst is that we've spent a meaningless season in the PL, cashed in, strengthened, gained PL experience, gained confidence.People saying "typical United, best season in years" and all that. It would have been "typical United" if it had been called off this time LAST season.
Of all the clubs with things to lose , we really aren't up there.
But that's not what's happening at football clubs where they are effectively closing down.
I get it's counter intuitive but the reality is a lot of people will get it and healthy people getting it is a positive thing - it's the contact with vulnerable people that is the key thing.
And what a bonus Liverpool don't win the leagueVery true. If the season is voided, which I seriously doubt - they'll find some way to finish it - the worst is that we've spent a meaningless season in the PL, cashed in, strengthened, gained PL experience, gained confidence.
Callum Hudson Odoi's video message may a decent view for you then. What the media are not reporting is how this virus affected people that have got it or got over it, is it like a bad case of flu, how long does it last, is it really debilitating? All they report is the number of cases and deaths. I would like to see people on t.v, that have had the virus and tell us what its like and how it affected them.
Also why are people buying loads of bog roll does it give you the shits? If you have to self isolate and need bog roll get on tinternet and have some delivered
Especially for Klopp, who wanted fewer fixtures. And what a bonus Liverpool don't win the league![]()
I think Leeds and West Brom might have something to say about that.Sadly the season is over in my opinion.
The authorities expect new infections to peak in June, so it should follow that footballers will still be getting infected in June so how can the league resume?
Also with all the legal issues surrounding promotion and relegation I cant see any option other than declaring the season null and void and starting again in August.
The only issue that leaves is the distribution of prize money which could be shared based on league position or split evenly.
Bad for us but worse for Liverpool.

This is a very good idea. In effect, it means this season is played to a natural conclusion, then a 'mini season ' played to bring it back in line. Not sure how this would tie in with Champions League, Europa Cup qualification though?I can't see them resuming in April given the media making out this is the bubonic plague on steroids, so what I'd do is merge this season and next - finish the remaining ~9 games in the autumn, then do kind of what Scotland do and have the top half and bottom half play off amongst each other home and away. Not ideal but I can't see how they complete this season without running into next season anyway, so think outside the box

They have just shut all bars and restaurants in my region Costa Blanca for 2 weeks. It really doesn’t.
Well we've gone into a state of emergency and they've shut all the bars and restaurants as of midnight tonightImagine being someone where the only thing stopping you from being bored is the football.
So you've never been in meadowhall at xmas . And don't forget people will only have shopping as a going out opportunity . Here in Spain we've just been put in a state of emergency and the local shops look like they've been looted . It's like black fridayAs far as I know, I've never been in a supermarket where 20,000 people have stood next to each other for two hours solid.
Yes I know it's only possible to get the virus at football grounds. Shops bars and restaurants are safe zonesIt really doesn’t.
