I can't see them resuming in April given the media making out this is the bubonic plague on steroids, so what I'd do is merge this season and next - finish the remaining ~9 games in the autumn, then do kind of what Scotland do and have the top half and bottom half play off amongst each other home and away. Not ideal but I can't see how they complete this season without running into next season anyway, so think outside the box

They should take time off work, obviously. The bigger point is that it’s more important to keep supermarkets open than it is football stadiums.
But that's not what's happening at football clubs where they are effectively closing down.
I get it's counter intuitive but the reality is a lot of people will get it and healthy people getting it is a positive thing - it's the contact with vulnerable people that is the key thing.

Also how can they postpone the season , the peak is not supposed to be till 3 months even then they'll be a few months after you would think.

Could actually see them cancelling this season. we are nowhere near the peak of the Virus.

Where would they fit in the football left if the virus isnt over till september ?

They'd be no other option to cancel it
The virus isn't going to be over. It's a case of society developing immunity to it longer term.

As far as I know, I've never been in a supermarket where 20,000 people have stood next to each other for two hours solid.
Asda at Park Royal. Fucking nightmare. Queues were so long you’d get twats standing in the queue with a half full trolley whilst the missus finished the shopping. You’d be stood there thinking ‘at least I’ll get served soon as they’ve only got half a trolley then some woman with badly bleached hair and badly bleached jeans would turn up with a basket full of food and dump it in the trolley.

But the idea that supermarkets should be closed because football is suspended is as big a pile of shit as I’ve read on here this week and there’s been a few massive piles of shit this week.

People saying "typical United, best season in years" and all that. It would have been "typical United" if it had been called off this time LAST season.

Of all the clubs with things to lose , we really aren't up there.
Very true. If the season is voided, which I seriously doubt - they'll find some way to finish it - the worst is that we've spent a meaningless season in the PL, cashed in, strengthened, gained PL experience, gained confidence.

There's many problems ahead if they anul. The league how's postions decided relegation promotion etc

The goal at this point is to "flatten the curve" of infections--do everything we can to avoid an Italy-type situation where there's a sudden, massive spike in infections that overwhelms the healthcare system. Yes, we hope that "herd immunity" will develop over time, but that will take months and months, and it doesn't mean we just go about our daily business as usual with a shrug. We can and should end non-essential public gatherings like football matches and (and this is the point I was making originally) comparing canceling football matches to closing supermarkets is asinine in the extreme.

What the media are not reporting is how this virus affected people that have got it or got over it, is it like a bad case of flu, how long does it last, is it really debilitating? All they report is the number of cases and deaths. I would like to see people on t.v, that have had the virus and tell us what its like and how it affected them.
Also why are people buying loads of bog roll does it give you the shits? If you have to self isolate and need bog roll get on tinternet and have some delivered

And what a bonus Liverpool don't win the league😁😁😁😁

Callum Hudson Odoi's video message may a decent view for you then.

Sadly the season is over in my opinion.
The authorities expect new infections to peak in June, so it should follow that footballers will still be getting infected in June so how can the league resume?
Also with all the legal issues surrounding promotion and relegation I cant see any option other than declaring the season null and void and starting again in August.
The only issue that leaves is the distribution of prize money which could be shared based on league position or split evenly.
Bad for us but worse for Liverpool.
I think Leeds and West Brom might have something to say about that.

This is a very good idea. In effect, it means this season is played to a natural conclusion, then a 'mini season ' played to bring it back in line. Not sure how this would tie in with Champions League, Europa Cup qualification though?

I agree, that is sadly lacking from the wall-to-wall coverage, which is of course a gift to 24 hour news channels who love this sort of opportunity.

How many people have had it, recovered from it, and didn't even know they'd had it?

FWIW, this recent information from Italy shows there have been practically no deaths for anyone under 50.

In Italy as at today 1016 have died.....contrast that to the UK where 10 people have died as at today.
The average age of the deceased in Italy currently stands at 81 years of age.
Virtually everyone had health problems before catching the virus.
Italy has the oldest population in Europe and that is cited as the main reason why there are more deaths there than anywhere else in Europe.
The other reason is that Italy and Spain still have a very high percentage of smokers.

So you've never been in meadowhall at xmas . And don't forget people will only have shopping as a going out opportunity . Here in Spain we've just been put in a state of emergency and the local shops look like they've been looted . It's like black friday
We've just got crushed in the check outs
You've that to come
