Yes I know it's only possible to get the virus at football grounds. Shops bars and restaurants are safe zones
The point is that closing supermarkets is a much more drastic measure than closing football stadiums.
Don’t think any supermarkets have been closed.....not even in Italy. Any shops selling provisions need to remain open.
Interesting thread...
So you've never been in meadowhall at xmas . And don't forget people will only have shopping as a going out opportunity . Here in Spain we've just been put in a state of emergency and the local shops look like they've been looted . It's like black friday
We've just got crushed in the check outs
You've that to come
I think that’s wishful thinking. They can’t seriously think that the situation on 4 April is going to be better than it is now. Those modelling the likely developments certainly don’t.
Got to say this has come as a proper bitter pill. Been following Blades home & away for over 40 yrs & home matches since 1968. This season is the best ever with possible Europe & a real chance of winning the FA Cup. Some tw#tin virus looks like bollocksing it all.Hi
It seems the fear around Coronavirus is growing at an exponential rate. Even James flipping Bond is running scared of it!
There's a real threat that sporting events across the country could be massively affected by steps taken to limit the spread of the virus. It's already happening on the continent - games played behind closed doors, etc - we have a really exciting end to the season ahead, Euro2020, Olympics... all of it could be in jeopardy.
It would be just our luck that the first time we are threatening European qualification something comes along to spoil the party. Can you imagine if every PL game had to be played behind closed doors until the end of the season for example? How about reaching an FA Cup final for the first time in any of our lifetimes only to be denied the opportunity to see attend the game in person?!
I know i'm jumping the gun in a big way, but it's something that could easily happen should things continue at the speed they are doing.
If you’ve missed the point he was making, then I think you’ve just stolen his title.Got to say this has come as a proper bitter pill. Just to compound matters:
One of The options talked about Tonight on talksport was if they can't resume the season was keeping the final table as it is now.
Yorkshire's Very own thickest man in the world Darren Gough says "just think how bad it will be for Aston Villa as they would be relegated with a game in hand!!!!"
No : thick twat, their game in hand is against us & the 3 points we would be favourites to get would put us on 5th & Champions League. What a fuckin dickhead![]()
As I work my way through my History degree, I can safely conclude that thinking for yourself and using common sense has never been a common attribute in any society to date.
Yeah, they do. It’s often during the periods of relative stability that the biggest advances in education, commerce and administration were made.Maybe sensible societies don't appear in the History books due to lack of drama.

is it. People can pass on the virusThe point is that closing supermarkets is a much more drastic measure than closing football stadiums.
Is it closedMeadowhall is a supermarket?
is it. People can pass on the virus
Can't see the virus. It has no idea it's in a shop
But where is it less dangerousYour original point was that, if we close football stadiums, we "logically" have to close supermarkets, too. Can you see why that's total nonsense?
It's not about whether or not it can spread just as well in one as in the other; it's about the relative impact on society of the closures.
But where is it less dangerous
Cheltenham was rammed today
Tomorrow In London youll get this View attachment 73722
Tell me the difference between being on a football ground anywhere in the uk or one of these as far as getting an infectionIn my view it was extremely foolish for them to go ahead with Cheltenham. Again, though, you're either missing or deliberately avoiding the point and so I've had enough of banging my head against a brick wall.

Cheers, so a young fit lad it was nowt really
Are you suggesting a tactical get it now whilst the hospital beds are relatively empty?
Good plan, at least the hospital has bog roll.
