Wow, I'd only popped out for a few hours and came back to the Blades tearing the whole thing up.

Well done to CW - you've nailed it. You've also given yourself the biggest recruitment challenge I've ever seen at United. All the best!

Oh, and my money's on Bert. He looked well dangerous in that puffer jacket.

Hes not a robot.

Hes a human being with a young family.

Yes he is a shit footballer and has no place in our upwardly mobile squad going forwards, but I don't blame him. As I say, I would defy any Blades fan to put the long term financial interest and stability of his/her family below the interests of the football club. And no one would expect it.

Hammond isn't even a fan so who could blame him for not giving a shit.

The blame is with Adkins and anyone else responsible for what I will now refer to as the madness clause.

UTB.

Not interested in sympathising the slightest iota with Hammond, or his young family, or their interests, or their stability. Fuck him. I'm interested in United's interests, not his.

Hammond's not incapable of getting another deal elsewhere. So let him get one, somewhere where he's actually wanted. Let him put down his roots & have that stability you talk of there.

No-one held a gun to his head & forced him to activate his contract here. He very much chose to do it. Despite the new manager not wanting him. It's pretty shameful on his part really. He just personifies the mercenary culture in today's football: he's like an aged Jordan Slew, but one with no redeeming links to this club whatsoever.

Your coming from an ideal world standpoint, whereas I am coming from the real world.

Not saying its right. In fact it stinks.

But the buck stops with the plonkers that agreed to sign him, not the player for actually signing.

If I was a rich man like Hammond I wouldn't have signed for United in a similar situation. He knows that there are Blades earning yearly what he does weekly, and he doesn't care.

I agree the club was foolish and incompetent during negotiatons.

So, CW is going to have to manage a team where most of our pros are transfer listed? What a clusterfuck.

Why is it?

Freeman, Coutts, Wallace x2, Woolford and De Girolamo won't feature anyway.

Only really Coutts and sometimes Woolford played for us last season and look how awesome they were for us.

I think it's excellent we have a manager who has the bollocks to release the shite who are out of contract and tell the others that unfortunately have a contract and who are not good enough for his team to fuck off elsewhere.

To me it is the furthest you can get from a clusterfuck.
It's what this club has needed for a long time. A proper clearing of the decks/deadwood/whatever you want to cal them, and starting afresh.

While I agree with all this, my ire is primarily directed at the utter incompetents who sanctioned this deal.

Hammond probably hates SUFC for sacking Adkins and hates our supporters for the treatment he had. He is in a position of strength to extract revenge and will negotiate a settlement of his contract so that he can find himself a club as a free agent. We have been royally stuffed and Hammond will laugh all the way to the bank.

Scougall has the fitness you say.

Not from where I sit he don't.

He hasn't cut the mustard and I am somewhat surprised he has escaped the cull.

I don't expect it will be too long before he is gone as well.NGE.

UTB.

It will be interesting to see what Wilder's plans are for him. If Scougs doesn't recapture the form he showed when he first arrived, I'm sure Wilder will get rid of him pretty quickly.

Clearly you have an image of Bert as a little old man who you think you can bully and demean.
Name a time and a place and Bert will come to see you and we will see if you have the balls to carry on with your shit to his face.

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Shut up silly bollocks.

Wow, you certainly know how to slap somebody down. That's the most cutting insult anyone has aimed at Bert in all the years he's been around these sites.
He'll steer clear of you in future.

And I'll steer clear of anyone who talks about themselves in the third person, and doesn't realise the quote they posted against was from a different person to start with!

I like 3rd person references and I like Bert and I also think Ghandi is ok too.

The message got there in the end to who it was aimed at.

Indeed, Bert takes few things on here very seriously with only the very occasional exception.

Hammond aside, which Wilder couldn't do anything about, very happy with it.

Only George Long that he actually kept on. And he's had the bollocks to notify Hammond and the others about being transfer listed.

Well done Chris. Fucking excellent job.

Agree Barney . I might be thick , but could someone explain this cheeky fucking Hammond deal . The bloke must have no morals or care a fuck . Has he signed a contract or activated a clause in his contract for

What salary

For how long

Could we have a situation were he is on say £12k a week for 3 years . Leicester had released , him , no fucker wants him and we are stuck with him.

Adkins is a clever , mardy , know all twat . The bastard.

UTB.

His PL salary at Leicester was over £30,000 pw.

During his loan we payed half.

Doubt his "contract" was negotiated for much less.
UTB.
Apparantly it is considerably less as a 'basic' with loads of incentives. Still can't believe the transfer committed did this. We made the same mistake with Danny Higginbottom

He's activated a clause in his contract that was put there when he signed.

The club are at fault for putting it in but it takes a special kind of greed to be uninterested in any kind of settlement to leave and for him to put his pocket over the fact that he's going to be absolutely hated at the club for the rest of his time here.

And this after being paid an absolute fortune for doing bugger all this past season.

Knock him aht Bert ...

In his twisted little mind, he probably thinks its compo for missing out on the PL with Leicester

Unless of course Hammond's the consummate professional and does want to fight for his place. Could he have been so poor because he saw through Adkins wankspeak & wanted him out so he can lead us to 100 points next season?

Where's my coat?

Or it's the biggest fuck up since Robson

I don't see it that way. I think it's a very smart move.

Transfer list them now when they are nowhere near the club to cause disruption.

It will be preying on their minds and their agents will be agitating for a move, so there are bound to be discussions before anyone is required back for training.

If Hammond is signed on big wages, we're fucked with him as no one else will take him. But I can see most of the others trying to get themselves fixed up.
