Ok then! That's a bit out of the blue. Strange it's come out a week after the alleged event.

From what I've heard its about the fact Naughton got put on ahead of him.

Personally I'd say piss off Keef. Start acting like a man and not a little kid. He should be praising Naughton and giving him advice not moaning if the kid get's on before him.

No big loss. I've always said if they don't want to fight for the shirt f*** em off.

Gillespie always strikes me as the kind of player whose heart has to be 100% in it to perform fully. More often than not, Norn Iron get the best out of him.

He's getting on a bit now and if he wants to go, let him. We shouldn't be paying wages for people who don't want to be here.

Gillespie set for Blades exit

By Peter O'Rourke Last updated: 29th September 2008

Keith Gillespie's agent has confirmed the player looks set to leave Sheffield United.

The Northern Ireland star's future has been the subject of conjecture, amid reports of a bust-up with Blades boss Kevin Blackwell.

Gillespie was axed from the squad for Saturday's win over Watford after reportedly clashing with Blackwell during the game at Norwich earlier this month.

Blackwell is now ready to let the former Newcastle and Blackburn winger move on as he does not figure in his plans.

Gillespie's representative Phil Munnelly has confirmed the 33-year-old is set to leave after a 'difference of opinion' with Blackwell.

"I spoke to Keith at the weekend and it is fair to say there has been a difference of opinion with Kevin Blackwell," Munnelly told skysports.com.

"At the moment we are seeing if we can find Keith another club.

"I have to speak to Kevin Blackwell to see what Sheffield United want to do."

Gillespie can go
Posted on: Mon 29 Sep 2008

Keith Gillespie looks destined to leave Sheffield United and has been told that he can continue his career elsewhere.

Kevin Blackwell revealed over the weekend that the Northern Ireland International winger was unhappy about his situation at the Club and assistant boss Sam Ellis said today:

"Keith is not in the squad at the moment and I would think that will continue to be the case - he has been told that he is free to look for another club.

"He is an experienced pro who feels that he would be better off somewhere, else and that is the end of the matter - we don't want to air our dirty linen in public."

:)

Blackwell on Radio Sheffield after game on Saturday:

"I believe you're either a Blade or you're not and he (Gillespie) needs to make his mind up which he is".

Something to do with he's got face on 'cos he's not first in line in the team at the moment or something

If he is just going to kick off about losing his place in the side when there are youngsters being picked ahead of him then I think we are better off without him. Rather have new players like Howard and Musampa who are going to fight to get in the team than him who thinks he can just expect to be in the side.
