why happy? he not managed atall, the job needed a experience guy.

Still not one of my ideal choices but I suppose I'd rather risk it with him rather than see Appleton, Morgan, Curle etc.

All the dross names that have passed through here the last month and a guy thought of so highly by Everton to be interviewed for the managers job there is no good for us.

o_O

'Proper footballer, still good enough to play for us (even though he's retired); played for Everton, Rangers, Scotland (Iknow, I know),,,, coached under Moyes (I know .he's won nowt as well) but when all is said and done, he's not an ex-blade and he is (was) a top pro. He'll be working with both hands tied behind his back so, if true, let's welcome him to BDTBL and hope that this is the start of a new era

I hope the above is true!if is the man has to be given at least 3 years in the job, wether be bad or good,we need to try and build something!Even tho Wier has no experience I and my fellow blades should get fully behind him and support him!

Well said.

Hope is knocking on the door, get it opened Kevin.

I would be happy with Weir as the young, up and coming manager. Experienced player and has worked with Moyes, who really changed "small" Everton to be a solid club in the Premiership. And the big plus, he has no connection to the club nor the pigs!!!

Compared to the shite names we've been told were about to be appointed, this would be a decent outcome.

Indifferent.

Thought we wanted someone with 1). experience in management 2). buying players on a budget 3). lower leagues

But, far better appointment than Page.

When was the last time we had a Jock as manager?

UTB

No idea who he is, i vaguely reemember the name playing for Scotland but can't place the guy really.

That puts him ahead of all the other current candidates in my book!

Yep lets go with him. He isn't Curle, Morgan, Page, Appleton or Downes. What more qualification can he need?

interesting one! could do better could do worse, im relatively happy if true

About the same age another Scottish centre half was when he came in to manage us .......... dare we dream he could emulate John Harris.

Seriously though we could maybe get loans off Everton and Man Utd. Maybe one of em wouldn't be utter Rich Tea biscuits.

Come on board, get this Weir bloke signed up. He's coach at Everton, he's never played for us, he HAS to be a better gamble than the people we've been linked with in the last day or two.

Not that bad an appointment, if true. If only for the fact that he's not yet proven to be a shit manager like the others.

Only name I have seen who everyone hasn't got a problem with at this stage

That's because no-one ever considered him, and he's no track record for armchair pundits to form half-arsed judgements about. :)

If he's learned from Moyes he'll do for me. Decent football with pragmatism, incredibly demanding and a bit fierce.

And Walker seems a bit more optimistic he's coming
