What you describe is passive caution, possibly with a tinge of hope? Of course it's not a problem. I wasn't referring to this position. There are many who seem to garsp at the creation of the 'football gods', or some other imagined reason why we'll fail at the eleventh hour. Nothing's decided yet, but I'm happy to suggest that we're on our way to a promotion season. All the facts-stats suggest we're where we are for a reason, if that's not a reason to celebrate then forgive me for responding to those who reach for reasons that would contribute to our failure. We're going up, that's a long, long way from any problem! UTB
I like the concept of "passive caution"and suspect that it covers pretty much all of us that are holding back (for the moment!)
Can't we all just agree that passive caution is not a mortal sin and just see out the last 10 games as Blades Fans?
:)

It's a type of institutionalisation, we've become used to low expectations, so much so that when something above our low threshold happens we somehow summon up some kind of suspicion or other. What we're experiencing is deserved and we're worthy of being top of this division. What we will see is whether those who own and control the finances of the Blades are willing to address the matter of who they support the manager in buying. In Wilder we have a good, potentially great, manager. The board need to support their man, he knows exactly what he's doing. I suspect CW's already busy looking at new signings, therefore next season is going to be the best we've enjoyed for at least six years.

As for your point about 'mortal sins', not sure where this cropped up, but isn't the art of opposing opinions what this forum is meant for?

Mate, never underestimate our ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
What this team .sorry but past teams failures have no sway on this team.people waiting for a slump are in for a rude awakening
.Once this teams up inn 3 or 4 weeks time we can finally bin statements like yours for good

There is just short of a quarter of a season left to play. It sounds a lot longer if you put it like that, with plenty of time to cock the thing up.

really , doers anyone think
the way we are playing we are not going to win 5 out of the 10 in front of us

really
we are playing 20th 21st 22nd 23rd and 24th
yes they are fighting to avoid relegation , but
all shit teams , there on merit
and 14th 15th and 16th who have absolutely nothing to play for

we dominate nearly every game , how on earth are we going to suddenly fail

Yuv hexed us BTL. If we don't go up as champs I'm getting the first plane out after the Chezzy game and I'm gonna drink your fridge dry and pee in the pool.

Didn't some pissed up lads try that at Leicester when Deane scored?
which of those bottom 5 weve to play yet have held a 3 goal lead this season

really
you can see chesterfield going 3-0 up at the lane
hopefully ched will play he scoring at 1 every 4 months

we let in 3 against a rochdale side that beat bolton and scunny at home , when they were playing well

we may well lose 1 maybe 2 against these sides , but 5

come on
We still mathematically need 23 points to be sure so 7 wins and 2 draws from 10 games which Is better than our previous 10 game performance! This is why I am refusing to count any chickens. I fully understand that this 23 points reduces with the failures of other teams, but there is still a long way to go and lots can and will happen. I still wouldn't swap our team or position but I remain cautious and optimistic but nothing is won yet! UTMB!

No nothings won yet chelsea arent certain to win the prem celtic arent mathmatically champions in scotland and can still be caught
Rotherham arent down yet
And Coventry can still get in the play offs
And Gary Madine can still win the golden boot

If you see anyone post that we won't go up ,or won't win 5 out of ten games then do us all a favour and quote them and debate it with them and save us all from your schizophrenic arguments with the invisible man
