Now as many know on here after 60 years of following the Blades I've got a weak sphincter when it comes to all things BladeyMcBladeyMcBladeface Bladyness success.

Additionally, those who know my quotables know I like a good graph to settle the nerves and here's why. Study this little beauty below. After our first 4 games it shows us LDLL. And I remember posting our season was already over and promotion teams never lose more than 6-8 games in a season.

Study and enjoy.....

One of the only times in life where a Blade doesn't want to to see a lot of red.

Where are these blades who think we'll lose 5/10? Keep seeing the mentioned but not found one yet

One here TTAT. I HOPE we won't, I don't even THINK we will. But if anyone can find a way of fucking this up either on or off the pitch, it's United. I'm enjoying the ride but can't bring myself to believe we're going up yet.:)

Pessimism, if repeated often enough, seems to be the new black!

We'll not lose many, if any, of the remaining season. We're top of Division 1 for a reason. I've lost count of the number of times we've been told we're the Champions elect by opposing supporters.........yet, we still ignore the facts and consider worse case scenarios because we cannot imagine being successful. Who could've imagined Saturday's results, a day when the Blades were resting, we managed to underline our position of prominence and establish ourselves as Division 1 leaders. We're the best team in this Division for a reason, why not, just for once, embrace that fact and wallow in the wonderfulness that comes with being top dogs.

We ain't going to lose any more (well maybe one game), and we're going up because we've earned the right.....Sheffield derby next season, the ladyboys of South Barnsley must know their season is slipping from their grasp, and so it'll be next season. UTB

Well if you don't think we will then you're not one of the people who thinks we will...are ya you sugar nut!?

Correct TTAT but I think we CAN and the more I think we can, the more I think we will.....

Oh FFS, I'm behaving like a fucking 12 year old!!!

Actually........I'm not............because my lad (who's 12) is pretty sure we'll go up................

Oh poor little innocent that he is!:)

I fail to see how some blades think we can lose 5 of the last 10 in the next 6/7 weeks
when weve only last 5 since mid august

Football is a funny old game, anything can happen, not that I agree we will lose them.

really , doers anyone think
the way we are playing we are not going to win 5 out of the 10 in front of us

really
we are playing 20th 21st 22nd 23rd and 24th
yes they are fighting to avoid relegation , but
all shit teams , there on merit
and 14th 15th and 16th who have absolutely nothing to play for

we dominate nearly every game , how on earth are we going to suddenly fail

Like I said I don't think we will lose 5 of the 10 not by a long shot. But you never know what could happen.

An earthquake tilting an opponents shot in
A freak lightening incident taking out 5 of our players
or most weird
Wright playing and us losing a game

As we've seen in recent games we can leak goals, maybe a early 3-0 lead to our opponents that we never recover from and puts us in bad frame of mind for the remaining games and lose every one.

which of those bottom 5 weve to play yet have held a 3 goal lead this season

really
you can see chesterfield going 3-0 up at the lane
hopefully ched will play he scoring at 1 every 4 months

we let in 3 against a rochdale side that beat bolton and scunny at home , when they were playing well

we may well lose 1 maybe 2 against these sides , but 5

come on

I think it's a little better than your ability to analyse graphs :)

You make a good point though. Taking out the first 4 league games we've now only lost 3 in 32, so it would take a catastrophic collapse to not get the 5/6 more wins we realistically need from the last 10.

Why do you think not shouting from the roof-tops about success we haven't actually achieved yet is 'pessimism'?
Like every one else, I'll cheer every win, I'd just rather do it after the game has finished and not before it starts.
Is that a problem?

What you describe is passive caution, possibly with a tinge of hope? Of course it's not a problem. I wasn't referring to this position. There are many who seem to garsp at the creation of the 'football gods', or some other imagined reason why we'll fail at the eleventh hour. Nothing's decided yet, but I'm happy to suggest that we're on our way to a promotion season. All the facts-stats suggest we're where we are for a reason, if that's not a reason to celebrate then forgive me for responding to those who reach for reasons that would contribute to our failure. We're going up, that's a long, long way from any problem! UTB

I fully expect to see my next Birthday but I haven't started celebrating it yet.
