Compared with last season...

Our projected 62 points would have seen us finish in 12th place last season (although I can't imagine where another 35 points are coming from...)
I agree with recent performances its hard to imagine us getting many points, hopefully Brayfords return will have a impact and we do something positive in January.

We were quite niggly, cynical and dirty for me (even outside of the horrible McEveley tackle) but I was actually pleased with that. After all season (and last) being a soft touch, it was nice to see some tackles going in and we slowed teams down at the right times (yes with fouls I admit). We were very physical today and got a number booked and could have had more booked but I have seen teams do that to us over the years many times so it was nice to see it the other way too. We slowed it down and ensured they were restricted when they got in the last third. It wasn’t nice to watch but all season we have not been able to do this and suffered the consequences.

United set up as an away side in some ways and we just trying to keep a solid shape and be difficult to break down. They achieved this in most respects. The shape and unity was much better than it has been save for a bit of a mad spell second half. It was pleasing to see this resolution not to get easy chances for the opponents. If they had to bring them down then they did. It was horrible but it worked.

At last! Maybe the penny is finally dropping. This is an ugly division and Millwall and Bury - among others - showed what is required. Wendy bullied and kicked their way out and it's time United, and Adkins, woke up to this simple fact.

Let the brutalising of opponents commence. To infinity and beyond!

Alright mid table Championship mediocrity will do for next year.

So, have we turned the corner?

Also, interesting (well I think so :D), we've scored over 40% of our goals between 61 and 75 minutes. Rivetting stuff...

turning the corner
dont want to get over excited , a draw and the doubters will have a field day
but the fact players are playing is positive enough for now

My favourite thread. Keep missing it this season because after every game about 20 threads saying the same thing pop up and put this one on page two lol.

I await reports, but 0-3 at 66 mins. and get a point has got to be good?

Plus, our amazing run of goals in the 61 to 75 period continues! Spooky...

So I'll not put you down for autos?

Depends, depends. This was the first time we've shown the ability to go away to a rival and get something. Will it be a false dawn? Will we cash in on an easy-ish run of games coming up? (although Colchester on Saturday won't be a cake walk). Autos look gone, and quite rightly given our rubbish form so far but there's really no excuse to fall away from now until the end of the season. Play-offs is definitely do-able.

A point at Burton, a point at Walsall, three points at Peterborough. So the point at Wigan was hardly "the first time we've shown the ability to go away to a rival and get something".

True, and throw in the home win v. Coventry and it seems we're OK against the better teams. Counts for nothing though when we throw all the good work away with poor results against the cannon-fodder. (See Post #1 here)

On the face of it, a decent point away on a wild and blustery night. Not enough though. Three points lower than Clough's efforts last season.

After we've been to Barnsley on 28 Nov we need to have about 49 points if we are serious about automatic.

By the time the Jan window closes and we face Wigan we will need to have about 63 pints.

That's only 8 points better than we are doing by Wigan in 16 games.

Easy in theory but my guess is that we will need something like 12 points to catch up by the Wigan game.

I just hope we are not looking back in Feb thinking it was so do able.

We are projected to be 20 points off auto now, and 7 short of the play offs.

56 points would have been enough so it shows that the top of the league point grabbing has slowed somewhat, still we couldn't keep up.

So we've turned 8 points needed in the last 16 games into 14.

Adkins stated in his interview that Autos had probably gone (no shit Sherlock) and that we probably needed 11 wins from the last 17 games to get into the play offs.

He knows full well that we have had 11 wins from 29 so far - so what he is saying is that we are fucked.

Twats - the lot of them

cunts an' all

Another utterly indefensible result and performance in a shocking season. Edwards has been apoplectic on RS. If Adkins goes tomorrow, I won't give a shit.
