Clough's future - changes seem imminent

This is speculation, but from what I'm hearing, I think it seems more likely that Clough is going to be sacked. I'd be surprised if he's still in charge by the end of this month.

This would hardly be startling news. However many seemed to have formed an opinion that Clough will be retained because he hasn't been sacked immediately, allowed to preside over the retained list etc.

Unlike when stating that we were signing Brayford I don't have any concrete news on this. But rightly or wrongly I think things are accelerating behind the scenes and Nigel will go.

Would you refer to yourself as ITK?

The gist of your sparse post suggests that what you're describing is a wish, rather than something based on fact. You admit your post is based on speculation, so it would be helpful if you confirmed exactly what is at the root of this? Do you possess something based on firm facts, or is it just another flimsy rumour designed to build a head of worthless steam?

If the Board are going to sack him it needs to be this week, and they need to have a replacement lined up. We'd need someone fully briefed and up to speed by the time the players come back from holiday if the Board are serious about us going up. In terms of what needs to be done, we're at least in a good situation as there's a consensus of the areas of the squad which need improvement.(CBs, Striker, DM, height)

I'm also slightly dubious about the majority of fans being pro-Clough. I think much of that is the worry about who would replace him, part of that is that people are often more likely to stick to the status quo (as the Tories) than embrace change (especially given our history).

Whether he stays or whether he goes the club need to make an official statement before the end of the month. Failure to do so will just be another in a long line of dreadful Boardroom decisions. Speculation helps no one but our competition.

I'd also say that there's been something not quite right behind the scenes all season, which may have something to do with our rapist.

From someone who is in the club. They have been told that the board are going to meet in a few weeks and that the prince gave Jim and co one job, that was promotion. That hasn't happened and is failure so something has to give. Also McCabe is very very unhappy. It seems the end is near for Mr.Clough.

Were you answering your own question there Max?

I have a horrible feeling that we may be seeing a lot more of Darren Ferguson soon. Not ITK at all but several rumours and when pieced together seem to make sense.

Adkins I would guess is out of reach.

If true the board don't want promotion. It would be changing for changings sake . What has he ever done, worse
Than Clough

We have already got one who is dillusional about the skills he has learnt from his dad without another one

I have heard from someone within the club that the manager will make some signings during the summer and at the same time other players will leave.

This is 100% accurate and not just some attention seeking bollocks to make me look important on an internet forum.

Seems like you are just fishing for likes. :)

Predictable bollocks from the Single-Agenda-Delegation [SAD] who are having their usual tantrums because a lot of people dare to challenge their views.

Did someone say lunatics? I'm not allowed to....

You may think that, it's more to do with the absolute shite that people are posting. This "ITK" bollocks that is presented as fact is little to do with actual information and more to do with dropping a bomb and sitting back, admiring the reaction while thinking how awesome they are for it.

Really, 3 lower league promotions and a Football League trophy would suggest otherwise......not that I would be happy at his appointment

It's important that the board demonstrates lessons have been learned as much as anybody else. One of the biggest factors undermining us is alliteration, consequently they just have to get Paul Lambert.

I'm undecided as to whether I want Clough to stay so you assume incorrectly that I want rid. There are solid arguments both ways.

I rarely post unless I feel I've got something to say. My source is very close to someone high at the club. Occasionally I get a snippet of info, like the Brayford deal when a few scoffed.

As for my original post, it is what it is, pure speculation. My source has led me to believe that Clough is on very thin ice and changes are imminent.
For what it's worth, given the vibes I'm getting, I think he'll get sacked and won't see out May. But we'll see. I appreciate those who argue the need for stability.

I posted my thoughts because I thought the assumption was that Nigel will keep his job. Like everything else, make of it what you will.

What does your source think of you blabbing confidential information to the world? What does the high up person think?

Make of it what you will? I have - not a lot, thanks.

Pinchers, haven't we all read posts by people who know someone who know someone who.....and so on. Of course, their confidentiality can never be discussed, after all, isn't that the foundation of every ITK's source? If a source exists at a reliable level, willing to broadcast to those willing to lend an ear, then they must possess the idiot gene, or be cavalier in who they choose to divulge sensitive info to. Perhaps that explains the rumoured misgivings at board level, loose lips and all that. But to put this to bed (well we can hope can't we?), will Lightsoot make an appearance in the next couple of weeks to add an update on board level activity concerning Clough?

Correct me if I'm wrong, seems like you're trying to have your cake and eat it too? Can hardly be 'pure speculation' if you've inferred something said by a connection with someone high at the club. If it's speculation, why bring this is contact in at all? I'm not doubting your intentions/information, just pointing out that the way you frame it makes it quite confusing what it is you're actually sharing.

Where has this come from? And we likely to hear about this at the end of the week?

Max, in post 762220 you asked "where has this come from" and in post 762260 you answered your own question....what's going off here then? Or are Max and Lightsoot one and the same.....?

The only bombs that get dropped around here are turds.

The lunatics brought you Weir, Wilson. Adams, Blackwell etc.

Be very aware of what you wish for.

Haha! brilliant. Not only are the fans blamed for poor performances, we now have them down for poor managerial choices !

What next - are we to blame for immigration ? ISIS ?

Single Agenda Delegation? Is that the best you can come up with?

Given that you spent the last few months posting about crayons, you might want to avoid talking about lunatics.

Well, I can think of at least one that I have no wish to talk to.

You're wasting valuable time. It's raining outside. There must be an anti-Clough angle on that if you give it a bit of thought...

Oh.....

As others have already said, whatever is going to happen needs to happen soon. Either sack him or publically back him before June. We can't afford to waste the pre season so either clear the decks or crack on with finishing what he started.

Forgive me but why do we need a public declaration at all?

We have a manager who is under contract. The default position with a contract is that it continues until breached, mutually varied or terminated by agreement.

Should I make a public declaration that I shall continue to have BT Broadband for the next 8 months, in accordance with my contractual obligations?

I would like to see daily public announcements from the Single-Agenda-Delegation [SAD].

Oh.....Hang on.....

They want out of this awful league next season. It's business to them, they want results. If it happens and his replacement gets us up nobody will be saying we shouldn't have sacked Clough. What's happened at Derby since he left has proven he lays good foundations but can't build the house
Derby remain a championship club, finished 8th compared to 14th when he was sacked. 1 1/2 years to climb 6 places, all that shows is changing manager has not really worked
