I've noticed that in pre and post-match interviews, our manager usually gives the opposition due credit as is normal, but sometimes makes a point of going beyond this to point out the size/stature of that club in this division.
It seems to me that he takes a certain delight in performing well at a few clubs in particular, that they are a benchmark we can measure ourselves against, and indeed his own
Relevant to our game this week, I think Forest are one of these teams. I remember him being very proud of our performance away last year even though we lost. I believe the word 'proper' was used several times.
Derby would be another example, and perhaps also Brentford, given their footballing philosophy. I'm interested to see if anyone else has picked up on this, and if there's any other clubs you also think would fit the bill.
