I've noticed that in pre and post-match interviews, our manager usually gives the opposition due credit as is normal, but sometimes makes a point of going beyond this to point out the size/stature of that club in this division.

It seems to me that he takes a certain delight in performing well at a few clubs in particular, that they are a benchmark we can measure ourselves against, and indeed his own

Relevant to our game this week, I think Forest are one of these teams. I remember him being very proud of our performance away last year even though we lost. I believe the word 'proper' was used several times.

Derby would be another example, and perhaps also Brentford, given their footballing philosophy. I'm interested to see if anyone else has picked up on this, and if there's any other clubs you also think would fit the bill.

For me Forrest are still up there with Leeds as the biggest scalp in the Championship.

I think our Chrissie has made English managers fashionable again. Don’t really want Bielsa, Karanka or Farke winning this league but I wouldn’t really mind Frank Lampards Derby going up with us though.

Listening to Wilder's interview with RS this week, he reiterated how much he enjoys going to play at the City Ground. I think he's definitely looking forward to this one and sees it as an opportunity to prove ourselves against a good opponent.

Sorry Tom I don’t mean to offend.
It’s a stupid thread, he won’t have any.
He may dislike some more than others but other favourites. No way for Mr Wilder.

No offence taken, yeah I realise 'favourite' may not be the right word.. that was slightly tongue in cheek ;)

A better description may be .. teams that Wilder shows a particular amount of respect for. As people have mentioned, I think Millwall is also one of these. Neil Harris is doing well with a very limited budget, and I think a manager such as ours, who has managed clubs on shoestring budgets, will appreciate the job being done there.
