I've been a blades fan for 30 years, never having posted on the board though. I won't say how I can say, but trust me, Oxford Uniteds Chris Wilder will be our next manager.
He has a house local, and has known for a while that his contract won't be renewed at Oxford, so has been looking at other options. He is blades through and through, whilst also being a good coach.

Watch this space.

William, I've been watching the space and it seems to have been taken by our new manager David Weir. Care to explain?

..............has been granted permission to speak to Charlton Athletic by Northampton Town after making an official approach this morning.

Regardless of what anyone thinks about Wilders attributes, at least Charlton aren't fkin about.

Not sure if this thread should be on this board, but as the rumours knocking around were that McCabe was favouring Wilder if Adkins was to go, then I suppose so.

If Charlton appoint Wilder, they will go up next season. Absolutely no doubt about it.

That's what a lot of people thought about us with Adkins.

Wilder, or anyone for that matter, would be mad to go to Charlton as they are. The relationship between the fans and the board is poisonous. That thing they did for the last home game where they put nets up without telling anyone is ludicrous.

If he takes the job it's proof he's either thick as shit or desperate for money.

Some people made similar comments about Wigan at the start of last season.

which club was in a worse financial state then Northampton were
but Wilder just focused on the on the grass stuff

Charlton only owe around 40 million

Its a big club though. No where near as big as us, but still a big club and a massive step up from Northampton. If Wilder has a choice between Charlton or Bolton then its like do you want to go on holiday to Blackpool or Skeggy?!

so , we are offering him a job then
If we are, it's a better job than Charlton. That's how much of a mess they are in. Wilder has worked so hard to get to where he is, he'd be crazy to risk it all at Charlton.

Id say Wilder would be a decent choice, he has ties with us but manages in his own way , and has done his apprenticeship with a skint club and come up with the goods
Id back him to do far better than the current incumbents paltry effort

Really? I cant see a top Championship side taking the chance, perhaps Rotherham would have been a shout but they seem hell bent on persuading Warnock.

I think its a very astute move (if he does go).
It wouldn't have to be a top Championship side. Charlton are in a real mess with pure hatred from the fans towards the owner. It makes our relationship with KM seem cosy. They could be another Blackpool.
There's no reason why he can't keep Northampton up so he shouldn't be in any rush to move. He should bide his time and wait for an opportunity at a well run club where he'll have the best opportunity of succeeding, be that in L1 or the championship. JFH only had to wait a few months to get the QPR job (who have stabilised under Ferdinand). Wilder could do similar, or may even get offered something earlier.

Charlton are like a fairly attractive but mental girl who wants to shag you. It's there on a plate but you know once she knows where you live and where you work it's going to turn out bad, one way or the other.

Whatever Mr Wilder is doing its working do you take the chance on him carrying it on ?. Mr Adkins is struggling at present as he did at Reading, do we take the chance on him turning us round ?. I know what I'd do.
