He fully deserves one, what didn’t sit well with me at the time is that I think he shouldn’t have even been picked that day, he’d barely played a minute and Robbo was sat on the bench, Hecky had seriously lost it.

Turns out the last really good moment of last season was Bash's testimonial. I hope he has a future at least free from trouble as clearly the injury is still a problem. The best player of the last 10 years? Based on consistency and effort. Obviously we have had players with greater technical ability. The move to centre half was a masterstroke. With Jack on the other side. Thanks for the memories Bash. The only player I can think of who no one on here has a bad word for. How often does that happen?

Totally agree with previous post, my first match was 1961,without doubt he's one of the best players, I've seen at lane, I've watched currie, woody, badger, deano, edwards, for his goals, Billy same, hammer etc,
A great player, great bloke,

Still go back and watch that clip of him skinning Man City's entire midfield. Looked like Bambi on ice at times, but normally came out with the ball. I like to go back and watch basham arriving every now and then to cheer me up. I was watching on TV holding my two month old daughter when he scored, and to be honest I chucked her a bit too high in the air Luckily her mother didn't see
