Back at the Lane due to Clarke's dreadful form??....

Must be a concern that his injury woes appear yet again to be an issue.

Shame.

So start a thread about one of those (although I would imagine signing a pivotal player in Sunderland's first team would be beyond our resources).

Didn't realise I had to start a thread about every viewpoint I have! It means nothing The club and coaching staff will be looking at anyone who can improve us. Ched is the cheap option...

Out with a shoulder injury at the mo. Apparently t'other week at Sunderland their fans were chanting 'you're just a shit Gary Glitter', hmmm.

Being selfless, I'd be a bit worried that if we recall him and then he doesn't get in the team either because he doesn't perform or because, given how things are now, Sharp and McGoldrick aren't giving up their place for anyone, and Clarke and Washington will be doing their all for a spot as well, that would be a major set back for him. Having a good season at Fleetwood would at least recover what he has left of his career, and I really want him to have that.

Still, it would be poetic justice that everyone deserves to have him return and rifle a few in at the Kop end.

Even if we do, why must it be Evans?
It doesn't have to be, I even offered Tyler Smith as the alternative if we had no money (albeit I don't think he wouldn't be as useful as Evans.)
5 million quid wouldn't even get us Waghorn, who so far is turning out to be a dud.
People are throwing names around such as Gallagher who imo would be a total waste of money, Hogan only effective one way, Wickham and Carroll who haven't played meaningful football this season and so on.
Are we going to try for the Cole's and Sinclair's of this world in the hope they turn good or can do a job for half a season? (Which would be a waste as it turns out). If so save the million quid and use Evans instead and hang your hopes off him.

I'm inclined to agree there Poker . And whilst I'd love to see him back at the Lane tearing the arse out of defences and scoring for fun, I doubt very much it's going to happen .

We've moved on at pace now and the only upside to all this that I can see is for Ched to effectively put himself in the shop window and find himself another Club to play out the rest of his career at .

Jermain Defoe on loan is aspirational. An injury prone 30 year old League 1 striker is not.

Top of the Championship with Billy looking a few years younger and a free signing doing a job a few expensive ones wouldn't have.

And yet we're talking about someone pushing 30 who's scored a few in League 1.

I don't know about haters, the Ched obsessives are far more tedious imho.

Why are we not allowed to discuss the relative benefits of bringing back one of our players from a loan spell?

Yes. We did it long and hard with the mediocrities that are Reed and Whiteman. They were mustavembacks if I recall...

As I've said repeatedly, for Ched to come back and score goals in the championship after so long would be like Roy of the Rovers stuff. Now of course it could happen, but his continuing injury problems are likely to put pay to that.

Even if he can stay fit, scoring goals in league 1 is good, but its a big step up to help us challenge for the premier league.

We care because he's a sheffield united player and not really a hypocrite or a drug user as I can gather Try and keep up
Dunno, why not start one?

Ched's a Unuted player. We wouldn't be signing him, we'd be recalling him from his loan to another club. If his good form continues and we're struggling in that department in January, he's an option. I'm sure CW knows that and the decision will rest with him.
Like his decision to sign him just before the last game of the promotion season?

Hes just starting to really get more games , Id say it will take him most of this season to get anywhere near full match fitness.
No one can say if he will get back to his best , but if he does some team will get some reward from his undoubted talent.
If we get to the prem I doubt it will be us as the risk would be too big . I hope he does enjoy 2 or 3 good years to make up for an over zealous crown prosecution robbing him of a successful career

Has he got injury issues ?,all. players get knocks and strains and miss the odd game . Wilder will review Ched. in January and take it from there. He may want to stay at Fleetwood or come back and fight for a shirt.either way Wilder will have the last word on this, one thing for sure if he comes back he will add competition for places would that be a bad thing.

Defoe is 36, on contract to Bournemouth and I'll wager he knows little to nothing of defending (an important part of every United player's game).
Evans is 29 our player and in reviews has impressed with his all round game, if you were trying to make Evans look an unfavourable option you failed miserably.

Why do nearly all your posts end in a question mark?

Possibly because I'm asking a question, a little bit like the post of yours that I was replying to (and this one also, seems I'm not the only one who likes question marks ;)). I did think that was partly what this sort of Forum was for but please let me know if I've got that wrong.

I think that’s literally the only time I’ve ever seen anyone call the CPS over jealous in a rape case.

Besides, they got a conviction. I’d hardly call that over zealous. If the evidence that acquitted him was that important, his defence team should have brought it in earlier. As it happened, they did so when desperate and everything else had failed.

And got very lucky!

Can we even have him back if we wanted him? I know the accepted view on here is that he's on loan till the January window, but both Wiki and Sky Sports have him on a season-long. Is there a source for the story that it's a shorter loan?

Edited to add: whatever the rights and wrongs of us bringing him back 18 months ago, the last thing his career needs is to come back to us and sit on the bench, or even just play a handful of games. Anyone wishing him well should be hoping he stops at Fleetwood and gets 30+ games under his belt this season.

Different legal team.

theres 47 other supposed rape cases to count up to

over zealous is being kind

ched was denied the same disclosure of evidence , makes you think

the new lawyers made sure the formerly withheld knowledge was brought to light
once it was his innocence was ratified

Eastenders are currently running a very similar story, no doubt doing their bit for public awareness, girl goes back, she's drunk, one lad has his time, then sends his mate to have a go. Neither are footballers and no phone filming of the events though

He wasn’t. He was a key player in our record-breaking promotion season. You were probably watching kids at the time and missed it,
The season before I am talking about as you probably knew.

I am sure you managed to get to a couple of games to see him.
