That's interesting because I was talking to a couple of my Cod mates last night and they were less than impressed, said he spent most of the time pointing and shaking his head. As you say, one good piece of skill/opportunity but that was it. Admittedly they didn't play well, they both said Wimbledon were tons better than last season, so still early doors. They both also said Hanson looked good when he came on.

Text your cod mates and see what they think now... on for an early hat-trick?

Six goals in ten appearances, be like having a new signing when he's back starting up front for us in January.

I think i saw that Wilder had commented that we were probably looking to leave him there a week or so ago.

A couple of those goals have been penalties haven't they?

Still he's doing well and whilst i saw he'd missed a couple of games through injury, the injury was reported as shoulder and not the ankle which he'd previously suffered

Because its the usual brain dead suspects with their irresponsible "fuck the world agenda". Ched, he'll do what he wants, he'll fuck who he wants cos like me I'll do what I want cos I'm me and fucking free me, like Ched and, Yeah me I'm fucking free me.

No you brain dead cocaine/ketamine/amphetamine addled little cunt, you are actually enslaved to a dangerous mind altering drug or two and 20 years from now, if you are still alive or your brain can still function you might regret being a clever cunt.

Come on now mate.

Stop sitting on the fence and tell us how you really feel .

Do we really want all the inevitable baggage and distraction though when things are going so well on the pitch?
Most of the 'baggage' has gone now there will be the inevitable chants from the idiots including our support but what we do need now but January will have to do is more fire power on the pitch.
Evans (and /or Smith) are the cheapest way of producing this.

Lyle Taylor has scored more. Where's the thread suggesting we sign him?!

19 year old at Sunderland top of goalscoring charts in league one and a few other local players outscoring and assisting Saint Ched!

Obviously shouldn't rule him out 100% but I think we need to be looking at top championship or young prem kid on loan if we want to add to our front line

To make a difference to us at level we’re at / aiming for he really needs to be tearing that division up. If he hasn’t scored somewhere around the 15 mark by January then I doubt he’s going to be an improvement on what we already have here.

To qualify this further, I’m pretty confident that Leon Clarke, even in current form, would score a hatful in League 1.

Like Woodburn from Liverpool you mean?...................oh hang on.....

IMO the only logical reason to bring him back from his loan in January is if it hits ALL of the following criteria; A: He's scoring regularly down there/is in good form. B: We're low on strikers due to injury. C: We can't sign another striker in January (and need one) D: Our strike force is out of form.

To be honest I thought us resigning him when we were spanking the league 2 years ago took a little of the sheen off things even though he contributed literally nothing towards that season.

In terms of the guy himself. I feel his time at Utd is over and i'm pleased that he's got his career back on track (especially after at one point no one could touch him due to the conviction, thinking particularly that he couldnt go abroad and teams were even pensive about having him on trial). However it could be argued that he cost us that season where Wednesday leap frogged us. Mixed feelings really.

Dunno, why not start one?

Ched's a Unuted player. We wouldn't be signing him, we'd be recalling him from his loan to another club. If his good form continues and we're struggling in that department in January, he's an option. I'm sure CW knows that and the decision will rest with him.

Bring him back in Jan as backup in addition to buying/loaning a prolific striker from the champ or prem. New striker will cost buckets loads but if we are in the top 6 in Jan it's an absolute 100% no braining must !

UTMB

Top of the Championship with Billy looking a few years younger and a free signing doing a job a few expensive ones wouldn't have.

And yet we're talking about someone pushing 30 who's scored a few in League 1.

I don't know about haters, the Ched obsessives are far more tedious imho.

A. He is and according to reports performing defensive duties too, which is important to Sheff United.
B. You never know when the injury will hit, if it's the first of Feb and Evans is committed to a further loan we are screwed.
C. This looks likely considering we couldn't in the last transfer window. (And yes we need one as we only have 2 scoring at the moment).
D. Clarke is out of (scoring) form, I hope he gets it back soon but there is no guarantee. Washington? Well I'll kindly stated 'the jury is out' on his ability to contribute.

I'm with you here, after all that had gone before and yet United still did it.

The “baggage” has quieted down whilst he’s in the third tier playing with Fleetwood where let’s be honest no one outside the Fylde coast gives a toss what’s happening.

If he returns here to the gold fish bowl at the top end of the Championship you can bet it will return with full force.

Personally I think it’s time to cut the strings on this one and look to new options.

Other views are valid.

Looking at it favorably, Leon has scored 4 goals in 27 league games, looking at it harshly, he's scored 1 in 13. Conor Washinton has scored 13 in 96 championship games. Clayton scored 5 in 26, and was deemed not good enough. As every passing game goes by, I don't think it's a question of 'if', but 'who'. :)

Because I don't think scoring a dozen goals in league one is something that should be on our radar of someone well into their career... Ronan Curtis in his first season in England and the Sunderland kid far more interesting to me.

So start a thread about one of those (although I would imagine signing a pivotal player in Sunderland's first team would be beyond our resources).

If we get to January and Billy, McGoldrick and Leon are still all fit, and at least two are in good form, we've been fucking lucky.

In January we'll either need a striker if we keep them all fit, or desperately need a striker if even just one of them gets injured.

It's possible that we ride our luck all season, Billy and McGoldrick play in 90% of games, bagging 40 between them, and Leon chips in with a few, but we'd be mad to risk that, especially if we're in a good position in January.

Bringing in another striker is essential. Recalling Ched as well could be handy depending on his form, and our circumstances.
