I wonder what Phipps, HRH and co are now thinking after being to the mob?

Maybe a shrug of the shoulders, hands in pockets and a quiet shuffle out the door?

Phipps has already shuffled.

The Justice for Ched twitter feed is full of talk of making him a blade again, bringing him "home" etc. Isn't this a page run by his friends and family?
I always got the impression it was run by some wannabe.

...didn't McCabe stump up summat like £170k (from his own pocket) to make up the difference in Ched's contract payments when terminated after the first trial?

Let's not forget it was his irresponsible behaviour that lost us promotion and ultimately led to our prolonged stay in League One. He may have been found Not Guilty, but he was still a twat and, like Baxter, not a player I'd welcome back.

I disagree, not about his irresponsible behaviour as that is undoubtedly true. If he hadn't had the up coming court case I think we would've sold him before the season even began so we wouldn't/might not have been close to promotion in the first place. We were so close to promotion primarily because of the goals that he had scored.

I hope its true that hes got a clause in his contract and hes back in jan

Keep hearing this. Not sure I want him back tbh. Don't want our promotion season to be tainted in any way. And whilst he may have now been cleared of the rape (I thought was a bad decision first time around) his acts were pretty disgraceful.

Just what I was told but I heard his birds old man was still paying his wage even at chessy as they can't afford them, he isn't worth anything because they don't really own him. Not sure what's happening now he is cleared.

Don't really own him.

Now wasn't there something controversial about this a few years ago ?
Nope struggling to remember but I'm sure there was something.

:fattwat: Maybe this bloke could help.

When watching games like tonight's I can't help but think that if we had Ched up front with Sharp we'd run up a cricket score.

I was told he'd taken out the largest sponsorship deal they have, indirectly paying his future son in law. They're obviously looking to cash in when the JTW comes round, I was also told he spoke about unfinished business at the Lane, not sure KMc will see it that way though

I bet his girlfriend's father will be getting a considerable chunk of any future fees involving Ched. He'll see the opportunities to get his money back.

Landell on a permanent

OR

The Welshman in January....

Both. Then they could just give us the title.

Personally, I don't want us to sign him as he could upset the apple cart. Whether people like it or not, people are mixed on what happened that night and that will include some players, especially the ones with kids.

He's admitted his behaviour was unacceptable and he's a changed man now. That will override any feelings potential team mates might have about what happened. He was apparently popular in the dressing room while he was here too. Generally I think he has a hell of a lot of support in football, and not only since he won the appeal.

If only it was that simple. What people say to publicly doesn't always fit with what they say privately. Most of the players are different to when Ched was last here so don't know him, then there are the players wives/partners who most likely won't like him for what happened. Getting a pass for the players night out with Ched there would be quite an achievement!

There are also fans, both men and women who don't want to sign him and then you have to explain it to the kids. I am not against signing him, but it's not as simple as he's sorry and got support from within football.

I don't want anything to stop what's happening at our club right now, and he would risk that.

Well he doesn't seem to have caused any problem whatsoever for Chesterfield.

Explain what to the kids - that we've got an innocent man playing up front for us?

We'd only risk causing disharmony by giving him massive wages, which we wouldn't do. The probability is that we'd have a player on reasonable wages helping us win matches every week. For that reason alone he'd be accepted. Maybe the fans would go over the top and turn it into the Ched show but that'd only happen after the first couple of weeks if he was performing.

There's a rumbling amongst Chezzie fans that Mr. Turner is pocketing commission on player sales. If so, Evans will be sold to the highest bidder, and knowing his (possibly former) quality I expect CFC will be looking for a bumper price. Quite probably more than he's worth.

Sheffield United, gladly, are not willing to pay such prices anymore. Not for Ched, not for anyone.

I reyt can't see it happening. Not after paying fees for Lavery and Clarke in the summer and barely even playing 'em yet.

I don't think we should ever resign Ched Evans.

I was quite vocal with my support for him whilst he was in prison, and up and until the not guilty verdict. He was innocent of the charges he was convicted on and I was delighted when he was cleared.

However this whole episode has cast a long, dark cloud over this club. It has caused turmoil, caused us to be a pariah club for a while, and turned fan against fan. It created disharmony at a time when we needed to be together. I just think as a club we desperately need to move on from Ched Evans, and in all honesty this Ched love in is a one way street.

As much as the next man who believed in the innocence of Ched Evans, I would love to see him go on and enjoy a great career and be respected for his footballing ability. As a Sheffield United fan I would also like to see us become successful and to be able to have a lot of pride in the achievement of my team. Those two objectives aren't mutually exclusive......

Evans is trying to sue us for loss of earnings so he can go and do one
