I think we all know that K McCabe wanted (or still wants) Ched back. That was apparent with the whole "he is just coming back to train with us, to keep fit" saga, which ended with us backing down to Jean Hatchet and Jim Phipps being filmed, publicly explaining why we had reversed our decision.

I genuinely would not be surprised to see him back at BDTBL, although I know it would split the fan base.
The fan base is pretty split on most things. I would like him back.

I didn't and you can "guess" at any one with CTFC connections that might be involved. I have not given any clue who I spoke to !!
Well as Chris Turner is the Chief Exec (unless this has changed very recently) and has said on RS before he does the contract negotiations people will put two and two together don't you think ?

And they'd be wrong !!

Just stating that he's not coming back whilst KM at our club. The "mystery" negotiator's identity is irrelevant to the possibility of the players return to us, but absolutely clear on this point.

I've spoken to the Chesterfield negotiator of his contract. No way will he come back to United whilst KM is at our club ! Feels unbelievably let down by him not honouring his promise.

At £2k pw its a no lose situation for CTFC.
Acquittal and they'll make a fortune when they sell him. The one year contract extension covers them.

Not read all this thread . IMO fuck Evans that he feels unbelievebly let down . So do we when he helped to fuck us up for promotion. . McCabe has a club to run . Taking this further its bollocks , Evans would go to the club who offers him most money and length of contract .

Let's watch this space . Wilder calls the shots for me at the Lane .

UTB

The only reason he was going to come back to us is because he knew the manager, got on with the players, and our fans would be more forgiving than most of the others.
The managers gone, the players have changed and the media circus has got bored and fucked off now so unless he feels a debt to us- why would he bother!?

Makes me laugh all this bickering between ourselves, especially over something that is neither important or ever going to happen. It's a wind up and this thread should be ended and consigned to the dustbin. Let's get real about all this, if he was ever going to come here, it would have happened. It's time to wish him luck and move on.

It's not a wind up. It's a rumour. If we stop posting this sort of thing there would not be a forum...

Agree TC . Time to say fuck off Evans and move on . The bloke deserves no wishing luck from us.

He has that already with a love blind wife and her well off family who stuck by him .

Thank fuck we have a manager who operates on morals and integrity

Ok, it's a rumour ..... It's still not going to happen.

I can't see Chesterfield selling an asset like Evans on the cheap because we all know he's a £2m plus asset that they've picked up free because of the circumstances. Maybe Ched has or will insert a minimum fee release clause in there, but you would think that's unlikely since he hasn't been in the strongest position for obvious reasons! Even when he got the original verdict quashed he had to wait until his ex manager came calling to sign for a club, although maybe for all we know Ched had other offers too.

Unless you are talking about Darren, which would produce an additional 100 pages.
Trying to get any kind of lawyer to predict the outcome of any case is usually like trying to catch sand in a fishing net. You might get a heavily caveated percentage at best.

Didn't stop Darren getting it hopelessly wrong first time round. :)

To be fair to Darren, he always said he was predicting the outcome based on the evidence that had been reported.

On the reported evidence alone, I think many of us expected a not guilty verdict. Which is why I said earlier that if the case was tried on the same evidence again, especially with Evans and McDonald now having the experience of being cross-examined on the witness stand and possibly now better equipped to deal, a different verdict might be reached. Almost none of us know (yourself and Darren excluded) how significant the fresh evidence is and what effect that might have on the outcome.
