The Justice for Ched twitter feed is full of talk of making him a blade again, bringing him "home" etc. Isn't this a page run by his friends and family? Just seen Harry Chapman applauding the decision on Twitter as well. Could this be a goer?

Well apart from the transfer window being closed, us being potless and Chesterfield about as likely to sell us one of their best players as Donald Trump eloping with Jean Hatchet it might be a goer.

Donald Trump is the new Ched, sign Trump in January, Ched for president.

How would Batman deal with The Welshman?

He would introduce him to the joys and safety of wearing your underpants over a pair of tights. Also the advantages of a mask to hide your identity and a utility belt to get you out of very unusual situations. If only Batman had let Ched use that hotline to the Commissioner of Police then it could have all been sorted amicably.

In this fantasy frenzy that seems to have taken a grip, has anyone given a moment's thought to whether Evans would even consider returning to the Blades?

There seems to be a moment in time that moved on for some. Evans would have moved onto a bigger club than the Blades had it not been for that night in Wales. His stupidity cost on all sorts of levels, his personal life, his career, he cost us almost certain promotion, and it was obvious that on the back of promotion he'd have vanished quicker than you could say 6 years in Division 1..........returning to the Blades? Are you serious?

Don't care if anyone trusts me or not, it's in the Rumour section, it's what I've been told, things may change but we all know that....

There are rumours in the rumour section and rumours that should qualify the rumour monger for the twats section.
Please understand that I am not calling you a twat but really.

I meant in January. Potless? We've raised the best part of £3million in transfer fees in the summer and moved our highest earner out as well as another 12-14 players so might well be some room in the kitty? Only on a 1 year deal so Chez wouldn't be able to command a massive fee and might even have a buyout clause with this situation in mind?

Sounds like you are calling me a twat....

According to the Mail today he could be suing us for £500k. If true that would go down well with the supporters.

That story is utter bollocks. "Loss of earnings" claim when it's widely known we continued paying him between conviction and the end of his contract? There's no basis and that's before you consider that we did nothing wrong in any legal sense.

Move on don't need him now.

I’d say we could do with one more striking option. Either recall McNulty in Jan or bring one more in to make sure we’ve got depth up front for the run in. For me, Evans would be a better option than McNulty and could be the difference.

Chesterfield are publicly hoping to clear their debts (£5m+) by selling Evans.

Though that seems stupidly fanciful, they won't be accepting our £500,000 bid.

My understanding is that there's a Government scheme for wrongly convicted people to claim for loss of earnings so thats where the claim would be!

Yes you are right I think as the amount was capped at £500k.. Apologies for the confusion, I'm getting old.

If that is the case then the claim would be against the state, not against a former employer.

It's all nonsense of course, but should Evans consider a claim against us surely a counter claim would be our response for the loss of income that promotion would have brought, and how Mr Evans wilful negligence caused Utd to remain in this division. Evans has a lot to answer for, and not just in the court of legal justice.

I wonder what Phipps, HRH and co are now thinking after being to the mob?

Maybe a shrug of the shoulders, hands in pockets and a quiet shuffle out the door?

Not read the whole thread and I might be wrong, but, didn't we let his contract expire while he was jailed ? (Paid an improsoned player)

If so he has no claim as the club honoured his contract, we did the same recently with Baxter I believe..

There is no basis for him to sue SUFC. He has no right of action against the club. He may have a right to claim from the public purse but it is very unlikely he would succeed on this. Mail talking bollocks as usual.

Amazing how his legal team would give the Mail details of the amount of a "claim" against us within a day of the judgement. Probably more telling is the comments about not knowing if we would be trying for compensation, a nice shoe in for Martin Creosote to twist the truth again in his "Poor West Ham" defence, ER I mean column.
