Adams is just getting better and better this close season, isn't he?

It's an absolute travesty that someone of such talent and dynamism didn't fire us to the top last season isn't it?

We were so much better when he was in the team. Never let us down; Never went missing.

We must hang onto him at all costs rather than getting rid and substantially improving the team overall. Never mind if the manager thinks it's the right thing to do. I'll blame the board if he goes.

He might have been more effective if we weren't so reliant on him to make things happen. Say if we had other creative players, the Jamie Murphy's of this world. Or perhaps if our defence was better his return of 12 goals would be seen as good which it is for a 19 year old. If we had say, the Harry Maguire's of this world.

Birmingham set for a second bid: http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/spo...rmingham-city-transfer-rumour-blues-11644222?

Wolves reportedly interested: http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/07/2...wanderers-could-be-tempted-to-bid-on-sheffi/?

We want to hold on to him and show that we are serious about promotion. He's been wearing the 9 shirt in preseason - show some balls and make him one of our main men. In the nicest way possible, these other clubs can:

What if the manager wants to sell him in order to fund recruitment? What if he doesn't see Adams as a main man?

Forget for a moment whether he'll get the money. Let's just assume the manager thinks it's the right thing to do. In that case, it's got absolutely nothing to do with balls or lack of ambition or selling our best players as a matter of routine, has it?

Wolves? Good. They're loaded now.

And they've got a good part exchange option in Nathan Byrne. Lee Evans too.

I think it's the attributes Ché has. Strength, pace, balance, dribbling ability, decent finisher- these are all very rare attributes in one so young. If he knuckles down and works on the weaker parts of his game, which are all very coachable, then he could go on to play Premier League football. Whilst Dack's stats may weigh in his favour, Ché is the bigger prospect in my opinion and the one more worth taking the small gamble on.

Completely agree pal, and all the more reason why someone should have to pay big money for him. SUFC - stuck in a time warp, with the bids made, fees accepted and the technology (fax) used.

Was it though? £5m for Naughton and did we manage to replace him with a better full back with all that money?

Nope

No but we had a better one waiting in the wings. A natural successor. If we'd not chucked him into the deal as well then the Naughton sale would have been OK.

No it wasn't but £5m for Naughton certainly was and we couldn't have one without the other. I'm not saying it was a good deal but a bit of balance does no harm.

Seem to recall we had offers from Everton and Villa of £4million for Naughton. Realistically we could probably have got £4.5 mill from one of them without throwing Walker into the deal. That would have been one of the few occasions where it made sense to sell a key player as we had an even better one emerging in the same position. But we made sure we fucked ourselves over completely getting rid of all quality in that position and letting Nyron Noswotyh and Elain Parrino fight it out.

The parachute payments had run out so our income was down by around £7-8m from the previous season and Blackwell needed the money so he could waste it on the likes of Ertl and Britton and the loan players who were no better than the shit we could have picked up on frees, in many cases worse.

"The Blades have had a tendency to sell their better players in recent times, with the likes of Kevin McDonald and Jamie Murphy leaving. "

Sez it all dunnit, that's how jurno's see us

Name a club that has been in the third tier of English football for 5+ years that hasn't sold their best players.

He will go, it's just a matter of time. If Newcastle or Bournemouth are interested then he should opt for one of those and get as much money as he can.

Birmingham City would be a sideways step. I appreciate they can offer him Championship football but surely there are more progressive suitors that can offer him more money?

We shouldn't be even listening to offers lower than £4m but we will. Prediction: United will end up selling him for around £2.5m plus add ons.

No point looking at today's grossly inflated prices?! That's how it is now! No point in us trying to compete then is there? Let's just pretend it's still 2003 and drop further and further behind in the world of football.
Utter nonsense.

Even in 2009's prices, £3m (about £3.7m today) was not a good deal for Kyle Walker. England's best right back.

but was he Englands best full back when we sold him , no wasnt even in the running

man utd let Pogba go and its costing them 100m to get him back , thats crass misjudgement
makes letting kyle go look sane

But those of us that know a thing about football knew he'd become way more than a £3m player. It was not a good deal. Not as catastophic as Man Utd and Pogba mind, no.

REALLY
Some in the know said Slew was a future international
n truth you can never tell, only in hindsight

The size of the club has nothing to do with the issue.

It has everything to do with the issue. We sell our most valuable asset every year which is a major factor as to why we are still in this league. Other clubs our size dont roll over like we do. Leeds kept hold of Beckford and got promoted, Southampton kept hold of Chamberlain and got promoted, Hudders kept hold of Rhodes and got promoted. Lets try it, just once.

The size of a club does not dictate whether you keep a player. Finances, and the player, dictate whether you keep a player.*

*At League 1 level especially.
