I don't understand why someone who ''loves this club'' would decide to post this information now, especially when such news could impact any potential sale of Adams and cost us millions of pounds.

For the right money; these moves if they come to fruition, would enable us to bring in the four quality players and in the case of Brayford save on wages. This obviously assumes that the money is released, I am however assured that unlike previous managers, Wilder is in control of a budget that he has agreed

That is going on the assumption we replace them with equal or better players and bare in mind there is just 4 weeks til the transfer window closes. There is no cushty loan window to fall back on either this time around for when "We couldn't get the deal over the line" on the final day of the window.

Anyway Wilder is seen as some sort of god at the moment and must be in control of the clubs bank account as well, so I will just assume it will be alreet in the end.

No training today. The club doesn't do training on Wednesdays

Oh come off it, as if any club buying Che wouldn't be aware of his off the field antics. Especially as Adkins very publically made t clear Che was being disciplined on more than one occasion last season.

McNulty and Adams were out together down town with Freeman last Saturday too. Not sure if it's allowed or not to be honest

I have seen the same trio out and about myself, everywhere from West Steet on thr lag, to Waitrose at lunchtime. Seem to have a little gang going.

Give over, what a silly statement that is.

Its like saying no one should say they think we'd be doing well to get £1.7m for him because he's not worth it.

Said it before ill say it again Che 5 million plus 20% sell on fee would be decent business in today's transfer market. Anything below 3.5 million would be completely foolish.

if the transfer dealings are being driven by what is put on this forum then we can forget about offloading Coutts and Woolford before their contracts expire then (probably can anyway).

Take it you didn't see him play last season then?

No one will pay £3.5m. Even in today's market.

This is a rare case where we can't risk pricing out potential buyers. We need the money much, much more than we need him. That doesn't mean we should accept the first offer though, and we haven't.

I'm not qualified to say how much he's worth, I'd suggest perhaps £2.5 on potential alone. That said he didn't set the world on fire last season and I'm surprised at the amount of interest he's attracting.

I think if we get anywhere near that considering the depth we've got in the attacking department, selling him wouldn;t be the end of the world.

The only reason I don't want him sold is because of teh absolute melt down some of our fans will have, including my old man, visits to see him will be off until we've won a few in a row.

Perhaps but lawless does have a point. We are but a few days from the start of a hugely tough match at the start of a hugely important season. Young lads will always put it away and sail close to the wind but this story seems to highlight a problematic drinking culture that a few of our players seem to persist with. I don't want to sound all high & mighty as I drink far more than is recommended but I don't get paid thousands of quid per week to be an athlete.

Hopefully CW is in control of this.
I think that because two players are seen out on a Tuesday evening at 03:30, it is a HUGE LEAP to say there is a drinking culture at the club. IF, and its a big if as you can see (capitals), there is a drinking culture, do you really think CW would tolerate it?

You may well be right about Adams' current value MM, my take would be to look at the money that's floating about the Prem or Championship and arrive at a valuation that reflects the potential a buyer would be investing in. No one knows how Adams would respond to an environment that demanded more of him, so let's assume that for the increased wages he'll receive Adams will be expected to respond accordingly. I don't think it would be unreasonable to expect a minimum of £3.5 - 4.5 million with a 20% sell-on clause. We'd have helped a lad who not that long ago was playing amateur standard football to take a step up career-wise, and we'll have banked money for reinvestment purposes, enough I suggest to secure a centre-half, midfielder, and goalie, positions we all seem to think will set us up for this coming season.

Seriously, if the players are not training the next day I don't see a problem with young lads having a night out letting off some steam. Out and about town doesn't mean they were getting hammered, by the same token staying in doesn't mean staying stone cold sober.

Football is a tough sport and we're not looking for a team of choirboys, so lets be realistic in how we expect them to behave.

that's a very good point, I'd not thought about that. They could be sat at home getting hammered on San Miguel at £1.25 a pint from Aldi, while partaking in football forums and other forms of social media, and we wouldn't know.

Fair point as well, I just wonder what is the normal policy at football clubs on this these days, when fitness is paramount.

Is it so hard to believe?
I know a certain group of Hull players are regularly out til silly AM.....one in particular who will remain nameless hammered, giving it the big licks and waving the notes around trying to get attention. (Always someone going to blow smoke up their Arse)
Needless to say same person went on to cause a bit of a stir and luckily for him got away with it by paying his way out of it. It happens every club in the land.

And I don't have an issue with football team mates bonding and generating a bit of morale as a result of a light drinking session.
However, these are Atheletes allegedly. They are paid very well to be professional, and represent thousands of people who are parting with their hard earned cash, and the football club.
Their job isn't hard....they have been playing football and generally fit all their lives. So they train for maybe 4 hours....possibly 6 and are expected to eat right and train the right way to be the athlete needed on the pitch.
This is 2016....not the old days of boozing. It's the basic expectation for players to be committed to a healthy lifestyle and professional attitude during the season.

So for me, Wilder should get a grip of it.
If they are out on the piss....fine them. Start training at 7am....and breath test/drug test every day. Anyone falling foul is fined heavily. They are fed by the club and then train before afternoon meal and more training. Finish at 3.
They should be leaving the training ground knackered and just wanting to relax.
Day off.....organise events.
Problem with lads with no ties and loads of money is that they end up getting bored and acting like fuckwits. They need to be kept entertained and busy. Fergie was a master at keeping players generally in check, it has to be done IMHO.
Huddleston? Livermore? They were well known for it at Spurs too. That's why they got fucked off.

I’d say if they weren’t drinking fair enough (though I’d still question the wisdom from a PR point of view). If they were out getting pissed in midweek leading up to the first game of the season, then that is terrible. It’s well known that alcohol consumption affects the body for a period of time and it’s likely that even if there was no training Wednesday, their training on Thursday would suffer as a result and they’d be more susceptible to injury.

I watched the BBC documentary on Salford FC and I recall Gary Neville being furious that the players had been drinking at an awards ceremony on the Thursday as they had a game on the Saturday. Sure as night follows day, they were awful on the Saturday and got stuffed.

Maybe they have already been told they are not in the squad......

Even if your sanctimonious twaddle is accepted (acceptable ) your reference to Ferguson / confirms your toshability Common knowledge including from our very own (captain) manager marvel amongst others of the supping culture endemic (& implicitly condoned) @ manure

Good use of punctuation

On the other hand, at least when we sell him we'll know it's not just about his footballing ability.

I do hope someone is feeding this back to Wilder. This trio seem to be what's left of the drinking culture both Wilder and Adkins has tried to stop. We need shut of the 3 of them. They clearly are never going to buckle down or be professional.

I did say a few players and maybe 'culture' was the wrong choice of words. But Che and Sparky are renowned for being bevy merchants as were a couple no longer with us.

I hope they both help to blow Bolton away on Saturday and Sparky has certainly looked up for it pre season, but time will tell.
