CONFIRMED Che Adams

Good to see he pretty much admitted their finances dictate they need to offer less than what a player is worth and try to get away with it.

Pleasing that Wilder agreed with his assertion and gave them short shrift.

That said, strange thing to admit. Wonder if he's in line for the Hull job and he's just shooting from the hip now!

Either way, offloading our better players to a team like Brum at knock down prices doesn't point to an ambitious future. Newcastle at TOP dollar, very different.

Maybe he's just being honest. Always struck me as a decent bloke and if we're not going to play ball, why not admit he was trying it on a bit?

Just out of curiosity. Were have you got this information?

I haven't. I watch and listen very carefully, both Wilder and Knill. Please don't think me arrogant but my instinct, experience and training has equipped me to "read between the lines". I am bang on with this one.

Not quite registered with some yet, so here goes again:

Forget all this "keep him" shite. Our manager wants to sell him. He wants the money for recruitment.

If that is the case then we at least want the right price.

I think we are all sick of other clubs taking us for a ride when it comes to transfers.

... and a reliable ITK poster said Wilder wants to sell and is unimpressed with his attitude. And it's just common sense - he's not an important player, and we'd be far better off if we sold Adams and reinvested even half of the money.

If we sold Adams and only reinvested half the money, it would still probably be twice as much as any manager's had from a 'star' player sale in recent times.

I dream of the day that we'll be given half to rebuild Herb.

Well he doesn't seem to be in Wilder's first choice 11 for a start, so... you could quite easily make it up.

Don't let the fact several higher placed teams are interested in this unimportant player with a likely starting discussion point being north of £2m deceive you.

As ever, you must be right !!

UTB

Don't be deceived by the fact that any young English player who shows any promise at all will automatically attract interest from clubs with far too much money to spend.

Tell me what Adams does for the team that makes him so important. And the goals are easily replaceable.

"He's not an important player".

You couldn't make it up

Well, he won't be in Wilder's first XI even if he stays. Third division sub might be thought unimportant?

One things for sure, he's come on a ton in the close season the way some of you talk about him....

If we don't sell him now there is every chance he could be involved in a rape

If you are harking back to Ched. As things stand there was no rape, both defendants having been acquitted, albeit by different routes...

Who is Herb and why does he need to be rebuilt?...

It'd take more than half of any Adams fee to rebuild Herb...

I agree, Kyle was showing prmise in a top end championship side when we sold him to Spurs, Che might have played more but he's still seen as a raw talent and inconsistent performer in league 1.

True but that was several years ago and transfer fees have gone up massively in this time.

Carsten Yeung I think who is banged up in HK on money laundering charges.

How the hell can he pass a fit and proper persons test? He can't be the owner surely, although a little Internet trawling says nothing to the contrary.

He bought the club before he was charged with any crime and before the investigation was public.

He still owns the club but he's not in control: receivers, 2 partners from Ernst & Young, are in charge. They are trying to sell his shares.

Yeung has appealed his conviction. He lost in the Court of Appeal but has an appeal to the highest Court, The Court of Final Appeal, pending. He's currently out on bail equivalent to 1.2 million pounds.

He passed before he was nicked.

Edit: as per Rev's post.

"my instinct, experience and training"
You sound like a wannabe Liam Neeson.

I tend to enjoy the majority of your posts, but you come out with the most pompous drivel at times. I'm hoping this is just part of the forum persona that you've adopted, and not your real personality for the sake of your friends and family.

I don't know why he would want to go to Birmingham personally. Had a few seasons in the Prem in the 00's but since then, they have been a very average club in the Championship. I know we are a league one club but if he wants to leave, then at least look to go to a club that have some expectations, ambitions and a club that would improve you as a player.

I was just answering a question mate, asking where I had got information when in fact I had no such information. Would it have been better to make something up? I don't do that. Help!

Yeah, I understand that. I also share your belief that Adams won't be the 1st name on the team sheet. (Though I could see him start semi-regularly in the 3 of a 4-2-3-1)

My "issue" was that you claimed not to be arrogant, then finished your paragraph with "I'm bang on with this one".

Like I say, I assume it's part of your forum persona, but IMO, it's not necessary. A lot of people on here respect your opinions, and enjoy your posts (myself included), and I don't think you need to condescend or sound self-important to maintain that respect.

Ok mate. Do you not agree that, on any common sense (Ricky's phrase, not mine) interpretation of current events, it's perfectly clear that Wilder is more than happy to cash in on Ché to fund further acquisitions?

Yeah I do agree, and if the club hired me based on my immaculate football manager record and I was in the driver's seat I would do exactly the same: I like Che, but selling him for a good price (assuming the manager gets any of the proceeds) makes perfect sense.

I think Wilder's recruitment has been fair-good but I expect it could be even better with a few extra funds.

And the process continues! Personally I want us to accept an improved bid, its clear that his head has been turned, its very similar to the Leon Clarke situation, although obviously we were in the buyers position. I believe that we'll be able to re-invest a proportion of the Adfams money into areas that we need to, as it seems that Wilder can't bring in anymore now (according to recent quotes) until players leave. We'd all love that to be Woolford and Wallace paid off, as he's injured by all accounts, but if it has to be Adams then so be it we've signed Clarke who will get the same if not more goals, based on recent seasons. Then we can go out and get that centre mid we all know we need like Morsy or Grant etc.
