They probably could fill the NYS completely with their fans.

But after selling tickets to their 4 or 5,000-odd season ticket holders (my guess) and the away allocation to Blades fans, how would they distinguish their fair weather and occasional fans from the many thousands of Blades fans who speak in very similar accents and i(n many cases at least) live in the same catchment area? With both teams wearing red and white, it would be impossible for the club to ensure segregation.

I think they would allocate us whatever number and then sell the rest to their STHs and other fans who want to go and watch them.

In addition to Peterborough and ourselves, all these teams are also battling for 6th spot. Chances are that one of them will put a good winning run together between now and the end of the season - which is why we really can't afford to drop many points. I actually think the main threat will come from one of these, not Peterborough who seem to be slipping back.

Port Vale - just a single point behind us, having played one game more
MK Dons - four points ahead of us, having played two games more
Swindon - three points above us, played two games more
Walsall - two points ahead of us, two games more
Crawley - five points behind us, but have played two games less

as it says we play twice before posh next play so could be just 1 point adrift
we should look up not down , who cares about the others
posh v port vale on last day means one loses points for instance

Which could either make them more jittery, or more determined. Seem to recall that when Leeds came within 3 points or so towards the end of 05/06 it seemed to lift us in the matches that immediately followed.

I agree

Has to be the best last PO position race for some time. I'm glad I'm not a Peterborough fan!

Even if we do make the play offs, the other 3 teams will have too much for us. Wolves beat us comfortably and Preston should really have done the same.

Anyway, the division will be much softer next year. Wolves, Brentford and one other will be replaced by much weaker teams in Millwall, Barnsley and Yeovil.

Keep the loanees, add a couple more (including Ched) and we'll be champions quicker than Celtic.

I'm intrigued by this 5 team play off. How will it be organised? I can only see it working if two of them are, say, Rushden and Diamonds or Brighton and Hove Albion.

On a more serious note, I disagree with your assessment. Let's review it when we've played Orient, Rotherham and Brentford, eh? By the way, there no points for 'should have'. If they truly shoud of, they would of.

You're quick off the mark. I must have edited that within seconds.

I can't understand this belief that games against the teams near the bottom are 'easier.' They'll be fighting like rats in a sack. Some very odd results coming from the bottom of both our and the Championship leagues.

So will we be Liverpool (storming up the league, but maybe too much to do) or Sunderland (buoyed by good runs in the Cup(s) which saw League performances improve. Only to sink with the disappointment of Cup exits?)

I fear

disagree strongly , we held preston with a much changed side and matched wolves every way except finishing on the day
crawley beat wolves , wolves beat us we stomp on crawley , theres no divine results , only the future

yeah but they can't score for shit ( as my mate predicted actually)

cant argue with that. still don't want to play them, on another day they could have had 4, if not more. whether they can score for shit or not.

We're very lucky to have this as a possibility, because we have come so far so quickly, job done for nigel as far as safety was concerned, and lets not forget that was the target when he came in..

But consistancy and the rub of the green, and we could creep in there, and wouldn't it be great should we be the team that came from out of nowhare and stole the show, instead of being up there all season and getting pipped at the post...

Thew loss at Swindon was a blow but not a fatal one , win our 2 in hand on Swindon and we go level with them, but it just means peterborough need to continue in their poor run more, just means theres less leeway in the forthcoming losses column , possibly as few as 1 , and better still 0

Hold on a minute. Peterborough play Wolves away next, could be 6 points behind by Satdy evening with 6 left to play.

It's not over till it's over. That said there's more chance of me pulling Natasha Kaplinsky than us going up.

We've gained a point, at this rate we will only be 3 points behind by the end of the season. Makes you sick don't it? :)
One more fecking win from another manager I will not name.
Mind you we can still win the cup. :)

There have been a number of games now under Clough with a little more luck or a greater presence in the final third I could easily seen us taking all three points. It'd be interesting to see where we'd be right now if we had.

Or if Mr Weir had won just one or two matches more.
