£10m! That's ridiculous
£10m for a proven premier league striker, yes please.
Surely Austin will be on the wages CW offers him?£10m! That's ridiculous and tbh I'm not that keen anyway, not that we have a say! I'd rather Madine to be honest, you know that Madine can play 46 games and will be a handful and not on the wages Austin will be.

Whilst I appreciate the posts that call for younger players, possibly those who can learn and improve, but we have immediate aims to consider, and these are to ensure we remain a Prem club the season after this one. By all means buy someone who might be able to take the leap, and of course my trust in Wilder is as it's always been, but some experience as well as youth and speed are absolutes. whatever Wilder decides he's got my vote, and should he discover a gem from a lower division I'm more than fine with this.
At £10m though....
Worst case if we came down and can’t afford any stupid wages, who’d be willing to offer even 30% of that price for him?
We really need to get younger up front. He’s 30 next week isn’t he?
This isn't true
Fact
You might take note and see that I didn't comment on Austin. What I feel we do need is experience to act as a counter to players still learning how to play.
I trust Wilder, not something I've always been able to do with many Blade's managers, so he'll know we need a balance of youth and experience. Don't forget, Wilder and Knill do have the knack of making under-performing players raise their game, so patience will be required dependent upon who CW signs.
Barnet apart, thought Stearman was steady enough when called on but agree prem may be a step too far.
Just that we aren’t after AustinWhat do you know Akinbyi? Seems you have information from an insider so spill the beans please.
Goal against Boro and legendary end of season piss up antics earns him a starting spot at dean court (or whatever they're calling it this year). He was steady enough when asked to play a bit part but if we’d played him as much as Egan last season we wouldn’t be a Premiership team now. And I say that as someone who rates him.
Surely Austin will be on the wages CW offers him?
If he doesn't accept what CW offers (which will fit into the wage structure) he fails the 'character' test at the first hurdle and its Goodnight Viennaaye but he will be on a huge wage and will he fit into our wage structure.
He got 2 goals in 20 appearances last season.
That's not proven, that's shit.
Leon would score more & he ain't gona cost us £10 million.
Pipe down, Wednesday fan. Too obvious.
Didn't do too badly for QPR though did he?
18 PL goals in 35 appearances.
If Wilder can get the best out of him we can easily see that return.
If the criteria was "had a decent goalscoring season 5 years ago" we might as well buy Jordan Rhodes
A point for effort.I'd prefer an older jags than a younger Austin
