Been missing in the first five games.

Some may be missing the protective arm of Wilder, while others have had personal issues and one (now gone) rumoured to be a ‘malign influence’ on the squad.

We’ve brought some strong characters in with the new players, obviously the experience of Mee and Ings but also it would seem with Ogbene and Tanganga.

Hopefully these guys can help get everyone on the same page and pulling together rather than sulking on the pitch and bemoaning the past.

If there is one thing the Wilder years showed us it’s you can’t underestimate the value of team spirit and getting that blend of characters in the dressing room right.

UTB.

I'd still have Wilder back.
That would be a great idea if you want the fans to remain as divided as they have been. Time to move on now and hopefully at some stage have a managerial appointment that goes some way towards reuniting us. I won’t hold my breath on that, we are not the fanbase we used to be, but it would be the best thing for the club.

Progress is rarely achieved by going backwards. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the first of Wilder’s two spells immensely, he gave us some amazing times, but his second period was ultimately a failure.

I think its part of any change as big as we've seen this summer. You're certainly right, we've lacked leadership at times and to be honest, despite his poor form in the wrong position, Hamer is coming to the fore as one of the strong characters in the group. He'll be with us until at least Jan, so lets hope he's a positive influence.

Whatever happens between now and Jan, we need the new leaders to emerge and i think the likes of Mees and Tanganga as you say will step up.

We have a lot of young lads, Peck is clearly an experienced head on young shoulders. He showed last season that he could quickly dial down the aggression and petulance when he wanted. That says a lot about him as a person as well.

Don’t think that will be an option under the current owners, but then I thought the same with Wilder and the Prince.
Again, this is me, hence saying "I'd still have Wilder back", everyone has their own preferences, and I'm not expecting United to get him back, if any of the Carrick/Rohl rumours, are to be believed, but, id still have Wilder back....
Atleast he is brilliant at bringing the club together, whether his tactics are questionable, whether you like him as a bloke or not, whether you want Dyche, Cooper or Mourinho, he still gets the club, and was great at bringing the players and fans together, something were desperately crying out for right now.

People are expecting a lot of Peck for me he froze at Wembley and should have been subbed at half time. He also isn't working as a defensive midfielder. A good player but I would take him out of the firing line.

I think by now we have all fully understood you would like Wilder back, but do crack on with trying to find different ways of saying it and getting it into every single thread.

Are you sure he brought the fans together?

No different ways, I'd take Wilder back.

It was difficult for Peck at Wembley because Sunderland set a formation with one upfront instead of their usual two, so we were outnumbered in midfield. This was even more evident in the second half, and I think CW should have matched us to their formation to see the game out.

Great. So, erm... didn't bring the fans together then? 😂
Eh? Brought the team together with the fans, brought the club together...., just because you didn't want him back for whatever reason, he took us to a play-off final... who did you want that would've done that??? Selles!?

You're now making a completely different point. You said he brought the fans together, I disagreed and you provided further evidence to prove it.

No, I said he brought the players and fans together, if you want to double check!

Maybe learn to read before trying to force home an argument that, for some reason, you want, but now look a bit silly, because you can't read.

Aye, Chrisseh is the only person in football can do that. Gets us. Gerrim back in 👍

Davies should've played a bigger part in that game.

Most importantly though, GET SELLES OUT.
No. The most important thing is to recruit the best manager to replace him. Given the shower who have been mooted so far as possibles, Rohl, Carrick, O’Neil and Cooper and Dyche maybe not in the picture Wilder is far away the best candidate, shouldn’t have been sacked, but I guess the Yanks realise that now. Dohh.
