I remember as a kid watching Best score an amazing goal against the Blades at Old Trafford in 1971 ...... anyone else see the similarity with Harry's goal last against Orient?

Not going to watch the clip as it's imprinted on my brain and has been for 35 years.
I will answer the initial question though.
Yes, there is one similarity in that the ball ended in the net on both occasions. Anything else is purely coincidental.

Oh, and I wasn't locked out on Sunday!

I was there too ,only my 2nd away match ,but didn't see the goal ,too small ,had to rely on my Dads face for commentary.

Must be a sign of getting old - got in the ground at midday an spent 5 hours standing in blazing sun unbothered by it.
Earlier this season, spent a couple of hours at AFC Wimbledon (in shade) and after 15 mins felt knees aching and rest of game trying to gently flex them!

Thought this was going to be a thread about the youngest FA cup hat-trick, got me thinking whether Harry broke a record the other day without even realising it. Anyone know if anyone younger than 19 and a day has ever scored an FA Cup (proper) hat-trick?

I don't even think this is one of Best's.... er.... best goals.

That one against Chelsea where 'Chopper' Harris tries to take him out around the knees and the one against Northampton in the cup where he sells the keeper that ridiculous dummy were better.

Didn't Best score with more Miss Worlds than young Harry has scored goals ?

Me too. my dad had already got us tickets and we got in the ground early. Many in front of me stood up in the stand when Best started off his run and through a tiny bit of space I managed to see the goal that got me into tears! 20,000 fans locked out

It's cold outside, nothing much on the telly, only Checkatrade trash to follow this evening...so it's a good time to answer the OP. The 2 goals have several similarities- smallish winger/striker gets the ball middle of the attacking half, sets off with ball wide into penalty area, slides a nice shot into opposite corner of goal. Great skill in both, Best beats 4 men, Chapman 2 at most.
But context is everything. Chapman is beginning of second half, Utd already 3 up, crowd of 6000, opposition defence non-existent. Best's goal is 5 minutes to go, score 0-0, United top of league, 10 games undefeated, huge crowd, Utd's defence was good, but weakened by Hemsley's injury. On the other hand, Chapman is just 19, Best was 26 or 27.
It looks to me as if both of them are/were capable of scoring both goals, but will Chapman turn into the kind of player who can do it on the big stage? It would do him good to see the footage, and be encouraged to aim high. The lad has potential.
Old film takes away illusions. I always thought Hockey chopped any opponent down if he was going through. What was he doing let him go?

Flynn, Hockey, Reece, they were all trailing in his wake. I was there too, right behind that goal as it went in. The general opinion from Blades fans at the time was that it was a jammy goal. The general opinion from everyone else in the country was that it was genius.
