He bossed the game for Leeds at the Lane last season and played well in other games I watched him. Jairo was ropey in his first couple of games for us but that looks to have turned out okay. Let's give him a chance and see what happens. FWIW I thought he started poorly but picked up for 10 minutes before he saw red. I haven't given up on him based on last night. I clearly remember people calling Coutts out when he first came. Some people just like a pile on don't they?

Wilder has literally said that Arblaster shouldn't be playing, he's not daft. It's one of the reasons we've signed two central midfielders at the end of the window.

Unfortunately though, Phillips and particularly Rothwell are not up to the pace yet, as we saw last night. That's what you get when you don't do your business early enough.

If either of them were ready, or Jairo or Davies were fit, Arblaster would definitely not have been playing last night, but the circumstances are what they are.

He shouldn't be playing ahead of Soumare either imo.

I think everyone agrees, it was an inglorious debut capped off with a bit of a horror tackle, deservedly getting him sent off, and possibly costing us a point at least.

Will it define his career in red-and-white? Let's hope not. Either way, it's as poor a start as you could wish for, in a big match for us, in front of a decent crowd under the floodies and on telly.

Let's see what he's like after two weeks getting fitter and more match sharp and up against QPR at Loftus, having missed three games we could have done with his presence in.

He played well when he came on against a very tiring blades side with 20 mins left.

I wouldn't call it bossing the game.

FWIW I think he's a decent player, but the accusations levelled at him are that he's nowhere near match fit.

It was a stupid challenge in his first game for us, hopefully he has a lot of games to atone for it and proves the naysayers wrong.

We didn’t have him 10 days ago and we won’t have him for a few more games now, it’s hardly like it’s taken away something we’ve been reliant on.

He’s ours for 18 months at least, we have Soumare and KP who will be gone in the summer as alternatives. Arblaster and Peck doesn’t really work so it’s one or the other with Rothwell/KP/Soumare.

I’d use Rothwell and Phillips interchangeably for the rest of the season (fitness permitting) if possible.

At least Rothwell made the run and effort to get to Browne, irrespective of the final result, Blaster would never have got near him
