Which would have meant that the game would have been abandoned because of our refusal to play on.We should have refused to play on at ht until it was put right - I’m still bemused at how little fuss Wilder and the players made of it. But a replay is not the answer because 1. we already have a packed fixture list due to what was our game in hand and still being in the Cup; and 2. we could lose the game and be even worse off.
Just to say I am behind you all the way,(in a social distancing configuration you understand) an old adage 'nothing ventured, nothing gained'.I guess Uzbekistan should have just 'let it go' back in 2005.
Their match was more important than this one, and they got a replay so why not us?
A lot of people seem to have lost their nerve over this lockdown.
I don’t think so. We were too soft on this occasion. Had we put more pressure on the ref and put Sky’s tv schedule at risk we may possibly have seen a different outcome, such as being allowed to walk the ball into an empty goal.Which would have meant that the game would have been abandoned because of our refusal to play on.
Everything else would have been classed as secondary to that and we WOULD have lost the point we gained AND been fined heavily.
I respect your view, but would you think the same way if it had been the last match of the season and we needed a win to gain a Champions League or Europa League place ?Yes, we were on the receiving end of a gigantic mistake.
Yes, I would expect, nay demand, that this is looked into thoroughly by the relevant parties in order that we can i) be told the full truth and ii) avoid a recurrence for some other unfortunate team in the future (or let’s be right, probably us again!)
No, I do not want a replay of the game - whatever you think about the decision and how ‘robbed’ we were, there is no way that you can replay the game now - the time for the decision to be rectified was immediately - that didn’t happen.
I really think we should move on and allow football as a whole to sort this out - asking for replays seems a bit desperate to be honest.
I said on the day and I’ll say again now - a draw was the most we deserved on Wednesday - forget that we could have won if the goal stood, we frankly were poor and only deserved a point.
If we were to replay the game, villa would probably fancy their chances of beating us.
If you want to get some momentum on this, go for it. You don't have to justify it to any condescending fucker on here, just ignore the comments , it's your club as much as it is anyone else.If you think that's funny have a look at this:

If they can do it, why not us?
Absolutely this.Will repeat my post from another thread;
As far as Sheffield United are concerned it is called "Shit Happens".....
Hawkeye have some serious explaining to do and should be put under considerable pressure to answer the following;
In my opinion unless Hawkeye can answer and evidence the above 5 points satisfactorily then they have been professionally negligent and just like any other company that has been professionally negligent they can be sued. If we miss out on European Football due to those 2 points dropped then we have a right to consider legal action.
- Can they categorically confirm and evidence that the system was working as it should during the first half, (at the beginning of the second half the Sky commentator said, "we are assured it is now working" which inferres it wasn't.
- Can they categorically confirm and evidence Michael Olivers watch was switched on and working correctly during the first half
- Why did Michael Oliver allegedly get a "goal" signal sent to him during half time, was this as either the Hawk-eye system or his watch were switched back on?
- Why have there been no pictures or graphics at all...., is it because it wasn't switched on?
- How can the reason for the goal not being given be due to "occlusion" by players and the post when Hawkeye technology boasts it clearly has the ability to remove all said occlusions.
You obviously think it’s all a bit sad.15 signatures in 4 hours. That’ll show em!
Pick up injuries. Look like mardy arses.Not to be a pedant, but we can gain 2 points, stay the same, or lose 1![]()
You obviously think it’s all a bit sad.
It could also be said that taking the time to look at it, note the figures and post a snide comment, rather than just ignoring it is a bit sad.

Please make it stop.
Flaatu Barsada Niktoff, in a a nice way of course.15 signatures in 4 hours. That’ll show em!
We have nothing to lose except one point.https://www.change.org/p/english-premier-league-replay-the-sheffield-united-aston-villa-match
'On the 17th June 2020 Sheffield United faced Aston Villa in the Premier League, a match which has huge ramifications at the top and bottom of the table.
After 42 minutes, the Aston Villa goalkeeper took the ball over the line yet a goal was not awarded by Hawkeye due to a technological failure by their supposedly infallible system, and VAR did not intervene despite clear evidence from Sky cameras that this was a 'clear and obvious error'.
The game finished 0-0, which will dent Sheffield United's chances of an unprecedented European finish and damage Aston Villa's relegation rivals at a potentially massive financial cost.
Therefore the game should be replayed from 43 minutes with Sheffield United leading 1-0 and the previous game struck off from the records.
There is precedent for the invalidation of such results. In 2005, the bureau of the FIFA World Cup organising committee reached a decision to invalidate the result of a World Cup qualification match between Uzbekistan and Bahrain on the basis of a 'technical error by the referee of the match'.
We the undersigned believe that in the interest of fairness and sporting integrity that a full independent investigation is launched to these events to ensure they do not happen again, as that the English Premier League should mandate that the match be replayed under these conditions.'

We have nothing to lose, and far more ambitious and outlandish online petitions have resulted in success than this one.
