Not the worst change of shape that is it?
The new signings increase hugely the options available to Tufty. It’s a good thing, especially with his talent to alter things in the course of a game,
We won’t, though, go to a lone striker on a regular basis; nor should we.
Do they? I'm not familiar enough with the new players to know.
I think Brooks returning gives us genuinely different options in terms of shape, as he's our only winger. Can the Man U kid play wide?

I am not convinced by this. I have no stats to back anything up, but I always prefer to see a smaller squad. Whenever a manager has too many options, they can overthink things. When you have to rotate to keep players happy, you can unsettle the team. You obviously have more unhappy players on the fringes to deal with as well.
Obviously you don't want the minimum number as you need to cover suspension and injury, as well as make a change when a game isn't going to plan. But do you need three or four options for each position? That's obviously going too far the other way.
I now feel we have too many options in the middle.

One upfront with Brookes and Holmes playing either side as inverted winger types is certainly something that I could get behind.
“That, the numbers, is one of the things we’ve learnt about the division and how important it is. We’re always trying to improve on what we do, always looking for ways to get better, and we feel that’s one way we can do it. Every single one of the the lads who have come in are more than capable of playing, and that’s what we want.”

I'm not entirely sure what your point is here.
