Much improved after HT. we had all the best chances, keeper making good saves from Sharp and Ozzie.

Nice goal, and though Cardiff were not much good credit to the lads for hanging in there. A welcome 3 points from a patched up team.

Good win for the second team. Now get the first teamers fit and ready for the 2nd half.

Weird isn’t it - we hammer Burnley and everyone backs us to beat Rotherham easily: lose 1-0.
Team sheet goes up for Cardiff, and loads of fans expect a straightforward defeat: win 1-0.
Bookmakers must love Blades fans.
Its the Blades way has been since when I first started to support them 40 years ago, you'd think I would be used to it by now.

Excellent win and decent performance considering the fkin injuries, albeit against a poor Cardiff side. But then you can only beat what’s put in front of you

Whatever the result tomorrow I'm dead chuffed to be going into the break in the top 2, a couple of weeks ago I didn't think it would be possible, get some first teamers back and hopefully it'll be some second half of the season

Blades will be in the top 2 in the table now come the 4 week World Cup break no matter what the result is tomorrow @ Turf Moor

Good 3 points in the end with largely a second eleven.

Scrappy first half where the teams were fairly even in terms of play but a string of mistakes gave them a number of chances which they should have capitalised on. Second half we were much more energetic and dominated for the first 20 minutes. They got stronger and looked likelier to score next but a mix of poor play and strong defending got us the win.

Wes - 6 - Not that much to do. Watched a shot go narrowly wide first half which he just left. Got a hand to a cross. Did ok.
Stevens - 5.5 - Another mixed game. He did some good stuff going forward and defensively but also poor moments as well. His legs look gone and the LWB position needs someone with more energy.
Robinson - 5 - Fairly poor before landing awkwardly and picking up a hamstring injury
Egan - 6 - Another player with a mixed game. He bailed Bash out on more than one occasion but also was sloppy on the ball and his headers, both defensively and offensively, are poor. Just head it without much thought on where it's going. Couple of great blocks but also gave their player a free header.
Basham - 3 - Really poor. Set the tone by flying out early and getting nowhere near the ball. Gave them a gift first half and poor all game. He's been carrying injuries for two seasons now and looks pretty much done as a starter.
Baldock - 6.5 - Get a goal by channelling the fury into a shot. Outfield play was hit and miss. Once again a really dangerous outlet for Norwood for the long balls. Defensively out of position as few times, not helped by Bash. Probably man of the match.
Osborn - 6 - Showed energy throughout and whilst not the greatest player always wanting the ball. Put a real shift in.
Norwood - 6 - Probably our best player first half but more mixed in the second. His balls are dangerous but needs to be more calculating about when he plays the Hollywood pass.
Arblaster - 5 - Ok debut. Not the worst player and got forward decently first half. Not so good defensively, but by no means a bad full league debut.
Ndiaye - 6 - Had another quiet game. Poor first half. Looked slow to react and first touch nowhere near his usual standard. Got better during the second but still mixed. Glad for him to get the chance to go to the world cup.
Sharp - 5.5 - Put a shift in and made some good runs. Hasn't got the pace to cause defenders issues and first touch needed to be better first half. Better in the second but looks a spent force apart from short spells.

Subs

Clark - 5 - Looked rusty, which is hardly surprising. Also positioning a few times was suspect, but given he's hadly played for us, again not surprising.
McAtee - 6 - Came on at halftime and added some drive. Should have had a shot from a run and also had a couple of other goes. His backheel was poor but something different ended up creating the goal. Defensively still needs to be much better but a major part of what we did well at the start of the second half.
Khadra - N/A - Came on late and did a good job of closing them down

Hecky - 7 - Injuries forced him to put out a starting eleven with only 4 first teamers in it. It was better than midweek but we were lucky to come in level while creating little. We came out much better second half. Much more energy. Much more direct. That was enough to get us over the line. We'll be in the automatic places after the weekend games, and he deserves a huge amount of credit for getting us there.

Cardiff - Strange. They have some good players. Especially out wide. But they also have some poor ones (like Harris). I thought they'd have a good season but they clearly haven't clicked.

Brilliant result! Not a sparkling performance but did enough to win and its another professional job done closing out a game.

That said, how do you even sum Sheffield United up at the minute?!

Recently we've gone 6 without a win, then won 4 in 5, won 3 in a row away but only won 1 in 6 at home, we've been awful and won, awful and lost, great and lost, great and won, thrown away leads and fought back from behind...

Yet there's half a chance we could still watch the world cup sitting top of the table!

Scary to think how things might look if we can consistently field full strength teams after the break.

...It's the hope that kills you.

If it doesn't and the next one does, all refunded and I still make kick off, so win-win?

As far as I'm aware if your train is cancelled you can use your ticket for the service before or the service after.

You would only get a refund if you didn't travel, or you would get delay repay if your service was delayed. If you travel, you pay (that's what happens with the TOCs i deal with anyway)

Good afternoon today for the BLADES with that fab win in Cardiff, QPR loosing for the 2nd time in week, Watford drawing away at Bristol and Norwich loosing @ home to Boro. Most other result all gone Utd way today. No matter what result is tomorrow @ Turf Moor still in top 2 in table

Not sure of the context but why wouldn't you like this picture? 😂

Some good results today. Pretty much all the top teams cocked it up.

Watford were poor and dropped 2 points, Norwich lost. QPR lost. Millwall won but in doing so beat Preston who'd started to enter the play off picture. Swansea dropped 2 points and so did Luton.

It's been a great day for results.

Those asking why 2 goalies, I'm sure we always take 3 just in case someone pulls up in the warm up. In this case we probably took 19 down with us then decided not to risk say Doyle or Fleck which probably explains Arblaster starting and Amissah making the bench.
