I’m glad he’s here rather than at any of our rivals. He’s turned us from hopefuls to contenders. I wasn’t sure we’d be able to last the distance with our depth before - I’m sure now.

2 goals and 2 assists

A target man was just what we needed. We're almost unstoppable now.

Sit-back and defend, we'll play through you.
Apply pressure and we'll exploit gaps by being more direct.

Very reminiscent of the James Hanson signing and how that fired us to promotion in LG1. Only Gary Madine is twice as good.

Now that pal, is an understatement!

After blasting his 2nd goal in for us today, I'm sure that - along with the rest of us - Gary Madine shares your pain:

AND THE PRIZE FOR THE MOST CRASS COMMENT GOES TO:
BLADEINIRELAND!!!

Never underestimate how little people know compared to Wilder. He knew what he wanted and knew what he was getting. Still early days but Madine has been instrumental in most of our good play when he has been on the pitch. Best thing is he isn’t even 100 percent match fit.

Despite egg-on-face our dear "BladeinIreland" comes back for more.
Take the hit pal and come back into the proper Blades fold; enjoy the ride - with big Gary Madine on board too!! UP THE BLADES!!!!
Nothing has changed because of a couple of goals.

Your previous sentiment was you wanted him to do fuck all if I remember right? So you still want him to fail?

I don’t do any other language than English so please use google translator if that isn’t doing it for you.

In regards to him being a good signing based purely on his impact on the pitch then yes.

In regards to my view of him a person no.

I don’t believe we ever signed him as a role model or club ambassador though. We signed him to play football.

You could have made that point a lot better.
I would still be delighted if he fucked off, yes.

I don’t care if he’s a role model. I don’t like the guy and a couple of goals against reading is not going to change that.

Fair enough. Many of us weren't happy with him coming in but the bigger picture is the club and a potential promotion.
I understand that, I don’t expect everyone to hunt him with pitchforks either.
Main point being these people who think his success on the pitch somehow proves people’s opinions on him as a person wrong are ridiculous.

The couple of goals is a very nice bonus; his general contributions however HAVE CHANGED THINGS - and quite dramatically. I'll give you the benefit of doubt and assume you were in Ireland and not at the Lane yesterday, so make your statement in ignorance rather than base it on evidence that should be obvious to anyone with something approaching average knowledge of football.

I wouldn't think that, everyone is entitled to their opinion. My personal view on him is not dissimilar to yours but I just could not imagine a situation where I wouldn't support a Blades player, and certainly not cheering a goal by them. I even cheered when Marlon King scored ffs.

I also think character and due diligence plays a huge part in Wilder's signings and I sincerely doubt he would have taken a nobhead on board. He also isn't blind to what happened before but people can change. I had old mates who behaved like utter cocks when drunk, always starting trouble and treating girls like shit. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near them if they were still like that but they grew up and sorted themselves out. That doesn't make what they did ok, or fix the damage they caused to people along the way but life goes on.

Just like someone with something approaching average knowledge of football should know that such judgements on a player should not be based on so few appearances.

Put it this way, had he started worse and I dragged up threads saying “look at me I said he would be bad, how great and knowledgeable am I?” You would quite rightly point out it’s not fair to judge Him after so few games.

At the end of the season we will know if he was a good signing for football reasons.

I still know already that he is a cunt.

I can see your point and that’s fair enough. Your a lot more tolerant than me.

I’m happy we won if that’s any consolation

You made statements regarding his (according to you) inability to score goals. You stated that he would not be a good fit for us. You then attempt to turn your argument around to the fact that his scoring a couple of goals doesn't change anything regarding your personal opinion of him - in other words, ok he can score goals but "I still know already that he is a c**t."
So, please make up your mind my friend - do you want him to fail (and possibly hinder our chances of getting promotion) simply because of your personal opinion of him, or because he can't score goals and isn't a good signing for us on sound footballing reasons?
Also - may I ask what your views are on a civilised society believing in forgiveness and rehabilitation?
Also - what is your opinion of people on social media using abusive language?

Bloke infront of me stood up to applaud him going off as sub. Realised it was Madine, sat back down with arms folded whilst everyone around was standing and applauding. Tit

Could be a real game changer in the matches coming up.

It's not as if he's a big lump who's in the side to be physical but can't score.

They may not fully count as assists but he help out Billy a couple of times vs Villa, was a key part of Freeman's goal besides notching a brace. His ability to outmuscle the centre backs simply gives us another dimension. We can put the ball in the box at height with more confidence.

With Billy in good form, this could be a very good partnership for the away matches coming up in particular. We then have clever alternatives in terms of Hogan and McGoldrick.

Quite excited about the variety we now have in the squad.

Still all applies.

It doesn't, and you're daft for saying so.

The posts of yours he quoted reference that he doesn't score goals; he's answered your concerns by scoring 2 so it clearly doesnt still apply.

I don’t like the guy and a couple of goals against reading is not going to change that.

Fair enough: you don't like him and you want him to fail. That's your prerogative, but don't dress it up as a footballing argument.
