Take a fucking chill pill..

We've just finished ninth in the PREMIER LEAGUE... That's the highest ever finish since Ive been following the blades... I'm 25. Been supporting us since I was 8.. think some people need to take a big pinch of perspective. Yeah, we were pretty dire since coming back... But what about the performances before then? "Major surgery needed" don't talk wet.. disassembling a squad that's just finished ninth in the league isn't going to do much. Get a goalkeeper in PERMANENTLY and a class striker to pair MCB, fill with some squad players who are better than what we've got (swift etc) and we're good to go. Calm yourselves boys/girls... It's not the end of the world... Could be worse, we could be languishing in the depths of the second tier awaiting a deduction... :D

Couldn't agree more. Outstanding season, for a side who were written off before we'd even kicked a ball. Super proud

I started when i was 8 too, back in 1962 had some reyt kicks in the bollocks over the years watching the Blades, this season has probably been the best since the early 70's,baring for the last 9 games in the virus league.

I think the last week shows beyond doubt that whatever happens some people will never be happy following Sheffield United. Realistically and judging by the last 30 years this is likely as good as it gets. People should enjoy it
To be honest ive been really disappointed with the fan-base last few months. Always saw us as more grounded and realistic than our swfc counterparts, we're just not though are we.

You mean people going off like Bayern Munich are like Sheffield United?

Jokes aside it was a very very strange end to the season, bit up and down for us. I imagine a lot of fans are concerned over the future of some players, rumours of apparent arguments in the dressing rooms - which isn't helped by the half arsed performances we've seen late. The best way to approach next season as a fan is to see what happens during the transfer window and let the boys have their rest.

I can understand the concerns but we have to understand that till almost the last game we were battling for a Euro qualification and not relegation. Any team below us would have given anything for the season we've had.

Most fanbases are the same really. Essentially some enjoy it, some can't stop worrying and some use it as a release of anger. I'm all 3 really but right now I just can't understand the mentally of criticising and worrying on the same day we finished in our highest position in 30 years.

Exactly my point bud. It's not a given right that we come up and instantly gain Europa followed by champions League followed by winning the league.. all I wanted is to see the boys graft and earn their money. They've done that and some in my opinion. Immensely proud of all of the boys, the backroom staff and the chairman. Nice seeing a chairman who doesn't talk absolute bollocks.. "we're looking at the first team training centre" announces a fresh new facility in the same season. Hang your head high prince. Made every realistic blade proud, as have the entirety of the Sheffield United team.

We should look at the games after lockdown positively.

We can learn that we have work to do if we are to continue on this successful journey.

Just like the debacle in the last 10 minutes at Villa Park last season this can be a wake up call. Fortunately we had enough points in the bag to keep us well and truly safe.

In the long term these last few weeks could be the best thing to happen to us.

Completely agree with the OP. This is my best season in my 40 years supporting united. We’ve just finished 9th, got one of the best managers in the country, and off the field is going in the right direction.

Yes, we need to strengthen, all teams do otherwise you go stale, but I am sure it will be evolution of the team and tactics rather than revolution.

Yeah we were pretty dire since coming back. those wins against Spurs, Wolves and Chelsea were shocking.

How many times have you seen swift play? Seriously I'm interested ,so what makes u know hes better than what we have ? I've not seen him play but I can pretty much guarantee he will be worse than what at least 17 of the other premier league teams have in midfield , if we continue to buy good quality championship players we will become a good quality championship team it isn't rocket science

Around 10-15 times, he runs the midfield for a very poor reading side (imo) regarding buying good quality championship players, if you look at most teams barring the traditional "top six" you'll find that most are full of top quality championship players, with a sprinkling of four sometimes five premiership players. So unless we're going to go out and do a city and buy every top talent and throw them on daft wages, this is the best way for us to progress. I'd love for us to go and sink 200 million in the transfer window, but it's simply not going to happen.

Bang on Roy been magnificent! Genuinely believe we would have had the Europa spot has the season not been halted. Nothing we can do about that it’s happened.
What I do realise is WHEN we have a really bad run there are going to be a lot of bed wetting in here and amongst some of our fanbase. Anyone liking back on the season other than it being a massive success needs to give their head a shake.
Initial aim next season is to not get relegated simple as that!

Who are you, I've got pants older than you. BANG ON THOUGH.

Some people have seen us be in with a chance of European football and think that's our bare minimum.

I'd like it to be, but that's a bit unrealistic at the moment.

This last 10 games in the restart has been somewhat poor, but even in this we've beaten Wolves, and Spurs and Chelsea comfortably.

As before this season, I was happy finishing 17th.. I'll be happy finishing 15th next season.. progress!
