My favourite thread this week has been sum up this season in a film title. This is my attempt at introducing some gallows humour. I live in Huddersfield and at my sons football training last night, I had my usual groan at our latest failure and generally bemoaning life in league one. The Huddersfield Town supporters present reminded me that they did 11 seasons in this division. A quick calculation brought me to the shocking conclusion that if we were to replicate this, my youngest son, who begins high school in September would have sat his GCSE's by the time we get promoted.
So what will have changed by the time United get promoted?

The Championship will be the new Premiership - we won't have the finances to compete with even the smallest clubs in that league. Bottom place club in the premier currently gets 99m. Another five years equals 15 clubs coming down with that sort of money.

We're totally and utterly screwed and won't be a major club in the top two divisions ever Again. We will be what we are now, a recognised third tier club.

When you're chewing on life's gristle don't grumble, give a whistle ;)

Blades Manager Calvert-Lewin said, "Today was definitely the highlight of my 20 years in football management, make no mistake, Nantwich Town ran us close to that second automatic spot and will definitely be thereabouts next season". With the new investment in the team theres a real feel-good factor around here at the Maggie Mays Arena and hopefully we can emulate what Carshalton Athletic have done by reaching the Premiership"

We don't appear to have the finances to compete with some of the smaller clubs in L1.

"and let's not forget our fantastic cup run this season when we beat mighty Bridlington from the Premier League (North East Counties)". Meanwhile down the road at FC United of Sheffield ...

I would laugh at this if I wasn't to concerned it could soon be reality!

"In other news, the Blades U18's have reached the FA Youth Cup Final after a 2-0 victory at Merthyr Tydfil, Jaden Warnock-Megson grabbing both goals and his 30th of the season since graduating from the Blades Leppings Lane academy".

Tyler

You are a naughty boy.

Stop this right now as it's too close for comfort.

My son will be telling his grandkids how his dad made him a fucking blade. Will give them nightmares

...Our gallows humour will have reached a different level altogether.

... the Football League will have another re branding exercise and will rename the Championship to League 1

Bramall lane renamed Brammell lane will be a spanking new mixed use development consisting of a large supermarket , various other shops, office and several hundred residential apartments. The awesome development will feature an area designated as public open space . This will include a kids football pitch the centre circle of which will be on the exact spot that the current centre circle is

Sheffield United now called just Sheffield to help incoming players struggling with the name and playing in all white shirts by this stage will ground share with Sheffield FC in dronfield but Sheffield fc being the bigger side will have priority over fixtures .

Of the current squad the only player left is the promising Connor sammon

Nigel Adkins seeks to reassure both remaining supporters that we are moving forward and we keep driving on , we are all in it together and to keep striving for positives.

Jim Phipps 's cover has been blown by the rest of his country and western band so he's decided to leave town and to hell with the place .

You get the gist
